Gravatar - WordPress customer support has been closed for days. I'm not receiving emails to verify account. I added the suggested emails to my contacts to whitelist them. E-mai

Hi Jeanie!

I just signed into Gravatar.com using the portal at https://en.gravatar.com/site/login/ and had the option to change my Gravatar. I could also access help.

Perhaps try a different browser - or clear the cookies and cache in the browser you're using (??)

Dennis

Hello Dennis,

Thank you for your response. I have everything working now by having followed the steps that I outlined in a previous comment.

By the way, I used https://en.gravatar.com/site/login/ and it sent me to the particular support closed page that was shown in the uploaded graphic in my request for help. I am also constantly clearing my cookies and cache, otherwise my computer tends to experience serious issues... :)

Guess I should have tried a different browser though. I will keep that in mind the next time I have an issue. Internet Explorer doesn't always play nice. :)

Thanks again for your comments!

Jeanie

Yeah, unfortunately they don't offer any help. If you create an account and never get a password or can recover your password, then often times you are out of luck and you will need to create a new account.

For some reason the email delivery from gravatar is very poor and often times the verification of your email will not be possible as a result. If this is the case, I always just create a new account with a new email address.

Kyle,

Thank you for confirming this... It's very time consuming when websites, auto-responders, software and apps do not work the way they are supposed to.

I've had a lot of experience in this area and it is not only a complete time waster, but it can cause a person to second guess every step they've made making things that much worse.

Thank you again for confirming that I'm not crazy! :)

Jeanie

For anyone that may have experienced this issue, this is how I corrected it. Hope it helps!

Go to: https://wordpress.com/ and set up a new account using a different email address as was used in attempting to create your Gravatar account. (Or you can use a prior account you previously set up.)

Once your WordPress account is set up (you don't need to create a blog with WordPress if you prefer not to. WordPress will give you the option to set up a blog or not set one up.)

Click on the graphic where your photo should be. You will see "Update Profile Photo." This will take you to a login at the Gravatar site. You will need to give permission to access your WordPress account.

Upload your selected image. Then add the email you were having difficulty with. Unfortunately, Gravatar will need to send out another confirmation email. But this time, hopefully you will receive it, as I received mine. (I'll keep my fingers crossed for you...)

You may select which email you want to make primary, add photo(s) and select which emails to use with which photos.

Here's hoping this prevents someone some of the same frustrations I have experienced in getting my Gravatar account set up...

Have a wonderfully productive day! :)

Great help, frustrating issue solved following your steps.
Thanks a lot! :)
