Cold Showers? Brrrrr!
Hi friends and cyber family.
I watched Doctor Oz this evening and he had a person on there from LifeHacks.org. He was advocating taking cold showers for our health. Brrrr. I'm always the one taking forever to get used to the swimming pool water. I'm okay putting my feet in and my legs; but when the cold water hits belly level....Brrrrrr! Can I take a cold shower? Well, after hearing the benefits, I might be willing to try.
1. Burn belly fat
2. Boost recovery after exercise
3. Increase mood and alertness (take a cold shower in the morning?)
4. Strengthen immunity and circulation
5. Give you attractive hair and skin
Maybe number three can help us here at WA.
So what do you think? Could you take cold showers? Do you? If so, do you notice the benefits listed above, or other benefits of taking cold showers? I just might try it.

Do you know from experience Bobby? I can only imagine. It's was cool in here this morning. I couldn't even talk myself in to a warm shower. :)
Many times after a hot shower, I make it cold for a minute or two.
It does close your pores. Suppose to be good for you.
Hi Jeannie. I am a big advocate of hot- cold- hot-cold showers.
I think I had written it before you came here.It should add to the discussion.:)) What doesn't kill us.
Very interesting post, Vera. I haven't been feeling well this last week. Maybe this could be the cure. Maybe it is easier switching instead of starting out "cold turkey". Lol. Thanks for replying. Xxoo
Yeah, much easier switching. Still a kind of tough, but the great feeling after you have done it makes you do it. And I really don't have colds and the skin looks good, etc., etc.
Get better!:)) Xxooo...
Thanks!! I'm trying. I feel better than I did all weekend. Friday night I slept from 9:30pm to 9:30am. Not like me at all. I may even try the shower thing....later...but it's cold in here this morning. Lol.
I haven't been able to talk myself in to one yet this morning, Alex. I couldn't even talk myself in to not putting on a sweater. Lol. Thanks for replying.
Hello Jeannie,
I usually take cold shower due to the hot weather in Singapore all year round.
I agree with "benefit number 3" that it helps you to be more alert and made you feel better.
I do not know about the other benefits.
Also, taking cold shower is just a matter of getting used to.

I can definitely agree with #2 and#3 Jeannie. A lot of professional athletes practice this. I also do cold showers after really long runs and big workout days.
