A Call To Action-Stop Write Ban Injustice
MelWaller, a friend to many here in WA is leaving because of the response to his struggle with his recent write ban. If I understand it correctly, there is No Human Oversight in the process it is all left up to the computer program.
If that is the case, then that is the same thing as convicting a person whether that person is innocent or not on purely circumstantial evidence. How would you like to have a loved one convicted of a crime such as murder or rape without any real proof being provided?
If the program determines that a write ban is warranted, it should be looked at by site support at the very least. To double-check the reason. Then if it turns out to be a long-standing member in good standing, it should be looked into even deeper. Before a write ban is implemented.
This is a Call To Action for the Community. A call for the Write Ban Policy to be updated.

I am not even sure what a "write ban" is but this has been showing up in my feed so my immediate thought is that should be monitored at least by a human. For instance, over the weekend I saw a few posts from someone "make a million bucks just go to my Facebook group" I did report this as spam, maybe I shouldn't have but those types of posts are exactly why I stopped using Facebook!
Maybe a block from AI while it gets sorted out by human eyes? Has this been explored as an option? I feel like this is a lovely, welcoming community and I hate to see people leaving because real spammers suck, and the programming to catch the bad apples are also hurting the good ones.

Absolutely agree! I hope KYLE and CARSON address this issue with the community! It may be that there are too many spam reports for a human to be overseeing so I agree that an "Appeal" process is a great idea.
I'd hate to be locked out of the platform if I'm a paying client and use this to manage my websites business.
They really should change blocking one from access to site support regardless of any other changes they make. I'm astounded that a web host could cut off support over something that has nothing to do with hosting, especially given it could be over something not even true. But even if true, it shouldn't affect support for hosting.
I just got done writing a review for hosting for my blog, and the host I picked was partially picked due to their top notch support.
This is a business before it's a social thing. Allowing the social to become weaponized against the business side is ridiculous and not professional.
It is a solid argument as it stands to not host here and not be social here.

That is really sad if he leaves, I truly can’t understand the narrow mindedness of people who do this.
All the effort he has put in to be driven out by someone who doesn’t even know him or what a good person he is. There should be a tracking system put in place to stop this happening.

Thank you for your post J.D., it's appreciated.
I'm sorry to hear about Mel's writing ban, I think quite a few of us have had a writing ban in the past. I have had two writing bans which were very close together, that was probably a couple of years ago plus! I must admit I hadn't heard about a writing ban for a long time.
The needs to be something in place to check these writing bans, especially for people who write regularly and who help to make the platform what it is. I guess these writing bans are put in by software, however, it's not good. Something needs to be done, especially when it's genuine paying members. I guess it's easier said than done with the amount of traffic and members that Wealthy Affiliate has.
