How much content is enough to launch?

Greetings everyone, I hope you're enjoying your weekend. I am about to launch an SEO site and I have a few articles compiled. I want my readers to get a sense of authority within this niche by experiencing a strong foundation right off the bat so I've chosen to publish 4 articles on fundamental topics at the launch. Although, I have read that publishing articles on a regular basis is the name of the game in terms of getting google to love you.

I need some advise. Is it better to start with one article at inception and release the others over time or start of with a stronger information base?

This is an interesting point which I have wondered about myself... I felt the same way as you do in that I'd like to begin with a strong foundation before adding regular posts. I got lots of content ready offline and then when I was ready to 'launch' I put 30 'pages' up straight away with the intention of then getting into adding regular 'posts', but perhaps I did wrong! I'm not sure. It did look good having all those pages there... and I suppose it must look better to potential visitors reading an article if there is lots of other content on the site. But, then again having read some of the other answers here, perhaps it didn't look 'natural' in the eyes of google that I did that! Maybe somewhere in between would be best- some pages to start with, but not as many as I put up!

How long ago did you launch and what do your analytics look like?

I don't have an answer to that yet. Sorry, my friend

The Google Gods have decreed that a real blogger posts content in a natural, regular manner, so you might want to start with a couple articles, then post regularly after that. It looks more natural to be regular and consistent than to post 20 articles once a week. One word though, you must make up your mind at the start how often you want to post articles because if you start out posting every day and you build a following, you can't scale back to once a week or month because you trained your audience to expect new content every day.

You have to start somewhere, get up what you have and keep writing. Each page will get a bit more rank and soon your site will be the authority in your niche.

It is important to get it online and keep building.

Thanks for the insight. That is a very good point. Does it make a difference in the eyes of Google?

If it were me, I'd put a couple up right away and then space the rest with a few days separation so the 'google-gods' don't think you cloned them from someone else's content. But that's just me - I really don't know if it will make any difference at all.

Welcome to the WA community, by the way.
