All outbound requests are blocked by default, you need to contact support and ask they them to help or whitelist the activation IP (or whatever they do).

When working in Wordpress, I used to be able to just grab a picture (while in page/post editor) and move it around so that I could place it in the content in a sensible, visuall
looking through Jetpack options, to see if one of those might be a problem. So, I *should* still be able to move images by grabbing them?
I've NEVER been able to drag and pull them, I have to put the cursor where I want the image, and then I only have left, center, or right justification to choose from - other than being able to grab the corner and size it smaller or larger.
But your theme might support the grab and drag feature, so a plugin might be affecting you. Just an educated guess - plugins are known for causing problems with certain themes.
It's been a while since I made a Wordpress website, but I used to be able to just, click &hold;, and move it. I could set alignment too, but the ability to move it up, down, into the middle of a paragraph, etc, used to make it much easier to make the text flow Around the image. >.< I haven't set my heart on this theme, but I'm not up for the headache of looking for one - I will see if there are any media plugins for the edit page.
