My WA Journey Thus Far
I will start by saying that I came to Wealthy Affiliate for the money. That has always been my goal, I have been looking for ways to make money online and offline. To make a long story short I have been looking for an easy get rich quick scheme, I really felt as though that is what I would eventually find, Was I ever wrong, I have so far made a grand total of about $6.51 in all of my Internet Marketing adventures. The truth is, what I have learned has been invaluable and the effect it has had on my life has been incredible.
When it came to picking a niche, that was very easy for me. I am a recovering alcoholic/drug addict and although it has not been easy it is something I am very proud of. I figured I would build a website based around recovery from addiction and alcoholism, throw in a couple of links to affiliate programs then put this whole deal on auto-pilot and start cashing cheques. Again I could not have been more wrong. I realized that finding affiliate programs for addiction and alcoholism recovery is not that easy, unless you want to promote guaranteed ways to pass urine screenings for drug tests. That is when my focus started to change.
I started writing real content for my website. I have always had some serious issues with self confidence and public speaking. I would go to 12 step meetings and listen to what everyone had to say and I would always leave feeling better but, I always felt like I was missing out on something. In creating this website I figured out what it was. I never got to 'share' at any of these meetings, not because the option wasn't there but because I was so deathly afraid of public speaking. This website has finally allowed me to share my story, each post or page makes me feel better about myself and my recovery. Even if no one ever reads any of it I will always feel better for having got it off my chest and on to paper, so to speak. Now if people do read my content, I hope and pray that my experience helps them to realize that recovery is possible. If I can help someone who is struggling with addiction and guide them towards a second chance at life, I will be Happy.

Jason's story needs to get 'out there' to help other recovering addicts travel this hard road, and also current addicts trying to turn around.
Jason, thank you for your honesty - that shines through everything you say on your site, and is what will win you the most recognition. You have a wonderful, amazing site - keep it up. You have come such a long way in the short time you have been with WA - you are amazing! You deserve huge success and the money will come - believe it - it is already out there waiting for you.

Hi Jason - I'm no angel - everyone (I'm absolutely sure everyone) has things in their past that they are not proud of. To share your story is humbling and inspiring at the same time. Humbling in that not many of us would say "this is my problem - here's what I'm doing about it" even if we should actually do that - and inspiring because you want to share your experience so that others can learn and benefit from it - that's a very commendable thing to do.
In your 1 post so far - I think you have probably connected with more people on this planet than you think you may have. I don't know if you're interested in monetizing your past life - and if you were, I don't know how to do it (others here could probably help).
But simply posting as you have done here, and telling people your story and how you have come from where you were to where you are now, could change peoples lives. That is such a powerful quality to have. To say I envy you would be wrong - but I'm not sure of the right words to use. I hope you understand what I mean - I think you could be a great ambassador for people going through what you have, and wishing they could be where you are now. You could help them see the road to your place.
