I am so busy doing nothing important
I am on lesson 6 of the Affiliate Bootcamp which is all about content creation. I have been on this lesson for I think 5 or 6 days now.
I have fooled myself in thinking that I was really busy with other important things like:
- creating a logo for my site - I will post it in this blog. Let me know what you think.
- becoming an expert in my niche.
- organizing my work space so that I can think clearly with no clutter to distract me.
- endless episodes of Doctor Who - I need to know what happens next.
The truth is, I am scared shitless with the idea of writing content that no one will like or worse, they will hate.
I have probably spent 20 hours on my logo which wont be seen by anyone, if I don't write helpful content that people want and need.
I have read so much about copy writing and SEO that I probably am some kind of expert. More than most in any way.
My work space is a fucking mess! I organized it but it doesn't take much for it to be a mess again. That is just the way I work.
The only useful thing I have learned from Doctor Who is that bow ties are cool.
My plan of action:
- The logo can wait - it probably looks fine. What do you guys think?
- I will become more and more of an expert as I teach others about my niche. STOP READING ENDLESS AMOUNTS OF INFORMATION!
- My workspace is a mess and that is just how I operate. LEAVE IT ALONE!
- Bow ties are cool. Buy a bow tie.
- Write a blog for the WA community and post it. (Busy with it)
It's just my own ego holding me back from writing my content. If I don't write content that people want, I learn from it and then I correct it. As easy as that. I think writing a blog does require a bit of an ego but it shouldn't immobilize you with fear.
Conclusion:
JUST DO IT!
P.S. Don't forget to tell me what you think of my logo that I worked so long and hard on, as to not write any content.

Hey Jan, I have NO idea how to make a logo, but I like yours. I wish I knew how to do that.
And when it comes to being scared, dude I'm having panic attacks and second thoughts every day doing this. It has been a real challenge. So I just do it. All day every day. Probably looking like a hack, but eventually things will be all good. In like, five years or something.
I visited your site.. It looked good. Didn't really read anything. Speakers are more my method for music but I browsed and it seems legit. You making money yet?
Thaks!! Nah, I added links and ads a couple of days ago, been here ten days. I don't think I'm going to earn much, but I'm having fun when I'm not freaking out. Besides I think boot camp is the big dollah.
I got a couple of sign-ups for WA with one stupid classified ad I posted but no one went premium. Not yet any way. I like WA but I think the free account part makes it easy for people to just sign-up and then do nothing. People put in a lot more effort into things they pay for.
Yeah.. By the way, do you remember the site that brought you here? Was it anything there that ticked your interest other than the freebie? I don't remember my reference, but I'm pretty sure he remembers me since I went premium.....just a thought.

I kind of got fed up with my job. Remembered Affiliate Marketing. Went to Clickbank. Clicked on an obvious bullshit product. Name + scam and Bob's your uncle.
The weird thing is, the guy that I basically bought WA from, seems like a very soft spoken guy, and I usually don't feel like those type of people have confidence in what they are selling. But I good sense that this Nathaniel dude did.
Awesome logo Jan - very clever. I'll PM you some resources on getting started with content. I'm not sure if you are a confident content writer and just procrastinating getting started or need some tips.
I am not afraid of just writing but I am terrified of giving miss information. Thanks a lot. Every bit helps.
its good that you can see what your issues are not many can, you at least are persevering I suffer from this often but in the end you will overcome your fear

I like your logo, I really do, but in my opinion it would look better if you swap the colors. I did it very quickly and very roughly, just to see what I mean. I hope you don't mind, I just like to play with graphics.
I see what you mean. Its not so rough on the eyes. The roughness looks cool as well.
But you are pulling my attention away from content creation again. Hahaha!
Actually I wanted to do it without rough edges, but didn't want to spend too much time on it. After all it's your logo.

I am in the same boat as you. Finding motivation has always been hard for me, but the best thing to do is think of how well the outcome will turn out and force yourself to get it done. Best of luck to you.
