Commitment starts in the heart, some people want everything to be perfect before they're willing to commit themselves to anything. But commitment always precedes achievement. I read somewhere that in the Kentucky Derby, the winning horse effectively runs out of oxygen after the first half mile, and he goes the rest of the way on heart.

The heart is what separates the good from the great. If you want to make a difference in other peoples lives as a leader, look into your heart and see if your are really committed.

The only real measure of commitment is action. Its very easy to say the words but its hard to live them day after day. As you press on in life you will face many obstacles and in those times commitment will be the only thing that carries you through. Therefore, commitment is the enemy of resistance, it is the serious promise to press on, to get up, no matter how many times you are knocked down. If you want to get anywhere worthwhile, YOU MUST BE COMMITTED.
