I have read in this community about a comment tool and people being encouraged to comment on each others blogs for credits.

I guess this is something available to full me

Great discussion here.

In the end, no one is forcing anyone to do anything here in WA but it is of great value to help others and to be helped should you accept it. Everyone is still an individual making individual choices about what to comment on and to be genuine in doing so.

I have enjoyed reading your great questions and also the great answers.

I hear ya, Jamie. When I joined, waaay back in January, I thought the same thing.

It seemed artificial that people were being forced to make comments. It turns out that while a few people just make simple comments, like "nice job", and leave it at that, most of the comments are actually very helpful. After experiencing the comment system for a few weeks, I guess I'd change the word from "force" to "encourage".

It's still a bit artificial if a person isn't naturally inclined to be conversational, but it does help the community as a whole.

It still "tricks" the search engines which is I guess the true reason for it, as it inflates the "apparent" organic traffic a site receives. I can however see some benefit as Chillens points out.

The system ensures that everyone participates equally. No one makes any money. We provide each other with traffic and we gain experience as we get to see what others are doing with their sites and this also provides everyone with ideas. If you ask for help, in any way, within the Community, you'll get it. I don't see how any of this is dishonest in the internet world.

I can sort of understand that to a point but I guess it depends on what the post is and what the comments says. If people post a sort of "Yeah great product" on a review post and it is not something they have bought then that would indeed be dishonest.

That kind of comment will get disproved. The whole idea is to leave useful comments that can advance the conversation in the comment section and invite others to leave comments too. There are certain rules. Usually nobody wants to be the first one to leave a comment in a blog post (i mean people outside WA) but if he/she sees an interesting comment section they will probably engage too. The effect on your traffic is not important.

Sorry as a still free member I haven't seen any of the rules but I was a little concerned about what I was reading in the community. I can certainly understand some of the benefits as you have mentioned.

I understand your reluctance. It is really quite a good system. All I can say is go premium and enjoy the benefits, finish the course, it's easy to follow. All will become clear.
