About Chillens
Joined January 2017
I made a career in sales, working for various companies for about 25 years. I am a wife and mother of 3. I was diagnosed in 2005 with Fibromyalgia, something I had been suffering from (and my mother) since my teens, I just didn't know what it was, and neither did the doctors.

I cannot work outside of the home as I need to keep my own hours and take it easy when necessary, so I started a daycare in my home, and it is quite successful. However, I do not want to do this indefinitely, so I'm looking for something else.

Hello, Chillen: Thank you for following me. I was an aerobics instructor for 12 years and taught water aerobics for people who had Fibromyalgia. Warm water therapy was the only physical activity many people with Fibromyalgia could do without any comfort. Are you thinking about preparing a website with this subject in mind?
Wish you well in your efforts. Cordially, David

And thank you, David. I love hearing people's stories and experiences regarding Fibromyalgia. And, yes, my website is all about it. Although still quite new, I have made some headway on my site and plan to hopefully make it worthwhile for people. It is funny, there is a lot of info out there about FM, but mostly from medical sites, not from a personal perspective, and that is what my site is going to be all about. I hope you check it out. Any feedback would certainly be greatly appreciated, and I would do same for you. Best wishes, Michele

I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia in 1990, unfortunetly one of my daughters inherited (?) the tendency and is in her early 40s. It is tough and frustrating with so many different symptoms, and the fact that you look well. I want to thank you for the follow and hope you have good luck.
Reply

Apologize for the late reply. I want to thank you for sharing. I have found times of temporary 'remission' if you will. Yes, largely inherited. Watched my mother suffer and the doctors telling her she was crazy, she was never diagnosed, but our symptoms are identical...different times. Made it my purpose to research and test for myself, to become an expert because I care about my health and everyone else out there who is suffering silently, thinking there is no hope, because, frankly, the doctors don't know much, many won't even see you for that purpose because they are perplexed, and there aren't any real specialists. I hope my website helps out some people.

Greetings, here s a quick question, anyone...I have a recipe page on my site. Can I copy other recipes from other sites to add to my page? How would I do this?
Reply
drjec Premium
The recipes are on other site are their property. You can write to the other sites and ask permission if you acknowledge the site. Or, you can offer acknowledgement when you post the recipe, but this is still taking a chance on copyright infringement. There may be sites that allow recipes to be copied. If the site states that its okay.
Reply

When using content from other sites, including recipes, it's important to be careful of copyright. If a recipe is in the public domain (for example, it's a recipe that appeared in a cookbook from the middle ages or even in the 1800s), you can copy and use it as is, but if it's an original recipe in someone else's cookbook or on someone else's blog, you have to make sure you don't run afoul of the copyright laws.

However, recipes are handled differently from creative works. Basically, the list of ingredients and the bare instructions are not protected by copyright, so you can feel free to use them. But if there's any kind of creative verbiage, you have to change that part.

That said, people can get pretty upset if you just copy their recipes without attribution. The polite thing to do, and the best way to keep from running afoul of the cooking community is to always share where you got the recipe.

Here are some options.

1. Copy the ingredients and bare instructions, but make sure to put any creative parts of the instructions in your own words.

2. Make the recipe yourself. Post about the experience and show pictures of what you did. Then link to the original recipe on the site of the person who created it.

3. Make your own version of the recipe.

4. Ask the person who developed the recipe if you can copy it on your blog, giving that person credit and linking to your site. They will usually agree, because it gives them free promotion.

NEVER use the photos that come with the recipe, unless you're 100% positive they're in the public domain.

Here's a great source of copyright rules for recipes.

Hey Michele, I just wanted to check in and see if had a chance to start exploring Wealthy Affiliate. It'll take you through the whole process of how to start your website and how the making money stuff works.

So I'm done level 1 of the course. Joining premium will get me level 2. What will I have to do to get all the levels to finish the course? Will there be yet another charge? Or will my premium membership get me all the courses? Need to know before I continue. Thanks and have a grand day.

I hope things are going well. I know you are getting rolling within the training and there is ONE thing that always tends to confuse people and that is "what is my niche?".

I know, same thing happened to me when I started.

I just wanted to reach out and let you know that I am here if you ever want to run any niche "ideas" by me or you have any questions about finding your niche.

Get back to me when you get the chance! :)

Hi Nathan, just built my website. My niche is Fibromyalgia, what do you think? Loving the tutorials so far. Wanting to make money...need to end my home daycare soonish. Think it's possible? I actually went to college for marketing. Do you think that will help?
Reply
nathaniell Premium
Of course it's possible to make money with your website! that's the whole point of the WA training :) It won't be "fast" or "easy", but if you follow the training and reach out for help when you need it, making money online is absolutely possible. I went through the same training as a newbie back in the day, and now I'm doing it full time.

Having an education in marketing will help too, although in the beginning I think the most important skills are going to be a willingness to take action and consistent work. Once you get some traffic flowing to your website, those marketing skills will come in handy to optimize your website for sales.

Hi everyone, although not a newbie in life, I certainly am here. Just going to do the starter and see how it goes.
