in Pinterest, when you come to pin, is it allowed to modify the description on somebody else's pin, or is that considered as copywright infringment?

Many thanks in advance to whoever answers me this question.

James

Good Morning James,

It has happened sometimes that there is an erroneous explanation under the pin, as the Beautiful view of Prague when actually it was Barcelona. I then prefer not to pin this pin as I do not want to spread a mistake. I have never tried to change a mistake, I think that is not up to me but the pin maker. I nearly always click on the website to see if it really leads to what you are made believe by the pin. It happens quite often that it takes you somewhere else, Pinterest considers it inappropriate or spam, this website does not exist anymore etc. Those pins I will not take.

Have a nice weekend, Taetske

Good morning, Taetske,

I see. That's not good at all describing Prague when in fact it was Barcelona all the time, and I understand your preferring not to repin this so you won't spread the mistake any further.

Yes, I am of the same understanding as you, that the content in the description is up to the pin maker in the first place..

I asked in here since the other day I watched a tutorial about Pinterest, and during a part of the video it showed how to change the description of a pin to how you want it. It did seem awfully strange to me that this person was doing it like they were his own pins and not batting an eye-lid in the process, hence this question in WA.

Personally, I don't think I would be very amused if somebody used a pin I created and modified the wording to suit their needs...

Many thanks once more, Taetske, and I hope your weekend will be a nice one too.

James

I have a tattoo website and for my pintrest I use a lot of images and one thing I never do is modify them you're asking for trouble.

Good Morning David,

Melani had this problem recently. She could not modify her own pin. I suggested to make a second pin with the right URL and put it on the board. Then she deleted her old pin. That functioned

Greetings from the south of Spain, Taetske.

Of course, that is perfectly understandable, and thank you for your feedback.

Never try and change someone else's pin James

Hi Vicki.

I see. It seems a bit cheeky, if anything, to change somebody else's description of a pin.
