Building Focus and allowing everything to fall into place.

Hey there Wealthy Affiliate Family!

It has been a while since I've posted here... but I've certainly been around... commenting and listening to the trainings... Great to see what everyone is achieving!

The more time I spend on here, the more I can see it is just a process. That needs to be repeated. And focussed!

By taking action a pattern starts to emerge. A new set of activities. Of course all the while keeping it as enjoyable as possible - and fortunately it is!!

How I'm building my focus...

My main activities right now are building my writing muscles, reading about writing and doing more research on the subject at hand.

I've made a list of blog post titles I'm very keen to write about. They're safely in my Trello boards.

I've set up buckets in Site Content (which were the different websites before)... and am now about to set up the different categories I've decided to focus on.

I've come across an application called 'Calmly Writer Online'... if you haven't seen it before, this is what it can look like..

It just puts me in a different space when I'm in those beginning phases of writing something new!

A great space for "just writing", as opposed to that busy space of comparing notes and researching. I love how it allows the previous sentences to fall into the background by making them fade. Can also put it in dark mode which makes me relax more when I'm looking at the screen.

Then I can copy and paste the whole thing into site content and finish it off in there.

Building up Momentum

As I'm building up momentum, I can see other areas of my life have fallen into place around the central focus.

I have written a lot, and getting a sense of how long that takes, and how much research I'm likely to need with each post I do.

Occasionally I'll write something one day, then come back to it and say "What was I thinking??"

I can see that is the process for many writers (as I read what they're saying). I've come across quite a few more experienced people on this platform highlighting the need to make the writing readable and to edit, edit, edit!

I'm even finding myself putting in a lot more editing effort for every comment I make!

Unfortunately, I haven't published as much as I planned - but I have a few things that are getting close! It almost seems like I'm building up a set of articles that could be interlinked and maybe I'll just post them one day after another!

Here's to the creative journey and enjoying the process!

Great article, Jacquie. I feel what you say about building and other areas of your life falling into place. That's was success does to us, I think. It motivates all areas of our life. You're definitely on the right track. I just can't wait to be in that place.🌺

Thank you Joss, yes it is like that - success is a journey and it is a matter of staying on the path. Everything else comes together around the pathway set.
Looking forward to seeing you succeed! 🌼

I enjoyed reading this, Jacquie, as it is a glimpse into what many of us have gone through and maybe are still venturing within. It sounds like you have found ways to manage the process--that's great!

Have a wonderful day!
Diane

Thank you Diane,

I'm stoked you enjoyed reading this! Especially since you are an established author in my mind!
I'm seeing it is a learning curve I'll be on continually... luckily learning more and slowly improving is a very satisfying experience!
Best wishes,

Jacquie

Thanks jaquie8. It gives me insight how too write my blogs, and glad to hear that im not the only one that does a lot of editing. Keep pressing on.

Thanks Lee, and you're welcome... I have come to realise these last couple of weeks that writers edit a lot more than I was previously aware.
Best wishes,
Jacquie

Welcome back. I like the idea that the act of writing is like training a muscle that grows stronger the more we practice.

Ray

Yes, Ray!
I can definitely feel how the writing muscles develop the more I apply myself. I'm even editing some emails a little more carefully, thinking about clarity and brevity.

Best wishes,
Jacquie

What an amazing sweet journey! The bit about you'd write something and then come back to it - "What was I thinking?" made me laugh out loud as it happens to me too often.
I like your work area that you have going on and 'Calmly writer online" seems writing away in utter peace.
Thanks for sharing, you have much enthusiasm. Take care.

Thank you Farah,
It's good to share our journey and to know other's are having similar experiences.
Yes, Calmly writer online is like that... a zen space for writing! It is a very appropriate name.
Best wishes,
Jacquie
