What Is Your Reason WHY? - Do You Even Have One?

Hey guys and gals, I hope you're having a great day. I just wanted to share a quick story with you guys.

I remember when I first decided that I'm going to start my own thing, my own hustle, my own online business like it was yesterday.

I was sitting on my couch one evening, and just thinking about my life.

That was about four, maybe five years ago while I was still working as a waiter and was pretty much fed up with the lifestyle that I was living.

One crazy idea popped into my mind, so I googled it.

In one of the articles, I found a link to a free PDF copy of "Think and Grow Rich", by Napoleon Hill.

I believe I've read at least half of the book in one sitting that evening and got "infected" with the idea about changing everything in my life.

The mayor idea was to change my finances.

I realized that much of our happiness in life is directly tied to the amount of money we earn, wouldn't you agree?

I mean, you want to take a vacation, but you can't afford it and it makes you depressed.

You want to spend more time with your family, but you have to trade your time for money.

You want to work out more, but you can't afford it, etc.

All these things we want in life cost money in one way or another. Even the air you breathe costs money. The food on your table. The roof over your head.

So my major desire was to become financially free, which meant to have enough money to afford everything I want and have a bit of extra on the side each month for savings.

But to secure that freedom, I needed to earn more money than I was earning at that moment, of course.

My other option was to go and live in the forest as a free man like Tarzan and hang out with the monkeys LOL.

So the choice was obvious...

I became Tarzan hahaha.

Just kidding :D

No, I decided that I have to start a business but I didn't know which one. So one thing led to another and I discovered making money online and Wealthy Affiliate.

However, as much as WA is a great opportunity, I just wasn't making any progress financially.

I learned all these cool things and became very knowledgable about making money online, but my results were speaking differently.

So I asked myself: "Why am I doing this?"

In an instance, that night on the couch from a few years ago came back to my mind and the answer was: "I'm doing this because I want more freedom in my life!"

So I took a pen and a paper and wrote it down as an affirmation and I kept that paper by my laptop all the time to remind me WHY whenever the going gets tough.

Ever since I burned that sentence in my mind and repeated it over and over, I started to pay more attention to my business.

I started to take things more seriously. I started making real freaking progress.

And then, slowly but safely the results started to show up and my business started to grow.

And the big reason for this success was the fact that I kept reminding myself that I want more freedom in my life.

I kept speaking that sentence over and over again until it came thru.

Today, I'm blessed to earn an income from home and live a laptop lifestyle despite all the crazy things that are happening all over the world.

I can wake up whenever I want instead of jumping out of bed on the alarm clock to get ready to go on a job that I hate.

I can start my day slowly with a cup of coffee, nice breakfast, easy workout, walk with my dog, or just read a book instead of busting my ass through traffic to get to work.

I can start my day enjoying my family instead of chatting with annoying coworkers that were draining my energy right from the start of the day.

I can decide freely to work whenever I want and whenever I want instead of taking orders from a boss whose face I couldn't stand.

I can write a number that I want to see in my bank account, and put all my energy into it instead of settling for whatever the "man" throws at me.

In other words, my reason WHY became my reality...

But don't get me wrong.

This is not some fairy tale lifestyle that I'm trying to portray here. I still work, I still hustle, I still grind. I still bust my ass.

But the difference is, I'm doing it on my own free will, just as I wanted, and I couldn't be happier about it!

My major goal is still not reached fully.

I still haven't reached the magic number that I want to see in my bank account, a number that will truly make a difference in my life.

But at least I'm getting there and so can you!

All you have to do is find your WHY, stick to Wealthy Affiliate program for as long as you have to and you're going to win!

So let me ask you, what is your reason why?

Hi man,
I have identified my WHY as I have started various business like MLM few years back which I didn't enjoy at all I thought that is fooling others to join you in MLM in a way it was a permit scheme or it' a permit scheme only the guy on top makes the big buks.
My WHY is to be financially free specially now I have a twin (Girl & Boy) 9 years old and I don't want them to struggle like me.
70% of our struggle is financial.
I have worked as a cabin crew for 8 years which was my first job and got addicted to drugs and lost my job after that I worked as a Travel Agent Executive and my job for 5 times as I was not enjoying what I was doing, I always wanted to work in motorsport so I got the chance to join a F1 circuit and know am happy with my current job but nevertheless as I mentioned my twins deserve a better life than what am giving now.
My WHY is very clear I see it everyday.
THANK YOU for motivating all.
I will GRIND, GRIND, GRIND, GRIND, and GRIND for the coming day and months till I reach the top

Have a wonderful day all

Hey man, thanks for sharing your own inspiration with the rest of us! All the best to you and your family and may all your goals and plans come to life. Keep grinding!

Have a great day yourself! :)

My pleasure man, I only blame myself for not achieving the financial freedom so far as I was hanging with bad company... lessons learned.
Man it's the weekend starting tomorrow and I took a half day off my leave today to start GRINDING. Am blessed to be in this community.

Thanks IVAN

Sure thing, man! :) Grind never stops! Keep moving forward.

You hit the nail on the head, Ivan - and I can relate! I'm constantly rereading Napolean Hill's books in my library.

My "WHY" has always been to have the financial freedom that so I can spend my time working on my passions and helping others instead of wasting time and energy on other meaningless work that doesn't have any purpose for me.

You're doing the right thing, by keeping that statement, that affirmation, that goal that you wrote down right by your laptop so you can see it every time.

Appreciate the inspiring post!
Isaiah 😊

Appreciate your awesome comment, Isaiah! :)

Excellent post on your WHY Ivan! My WHY is the enjoyment of it all! The money is not nearly as important to me as it once was! I've made a lot in the past, but I hated every minute of it, and most of what I made I squandered on foolishness. Lesson learned!

Now, I simply live each new day and treat it as the gift that it is! I am enjoying my work more, and thus, starting to make money because i am putting my customers first and it is paying dividends as new work comes in!

My adventure in WA consists of my foundation and brand building along with my plans for my sites to promote my physical endeavors and interests! I, too, have to keep my eye on the prize I have set for myself! I will either get there eventually or die trying, but I will NEVER quit! Thanks for the motivation, my friend!

Jeff

Great to hear about your own success, Jeff! Thanks for sharing your opinion and best of luck in the future :)

Much appreciated, Ivan, and I hope you get to your goals as well!

Jeff😎👍

Same back at you, Jeff :)

Much appreciated, my friend!

Jeff

Hi Ivan, thank you for sharing this motivational post. I will be looking up Napolean Hill's article, I think it would be an interesting read.

For me, I have been in three places in my financial life, poor, what I would call wealthy, and where I am today rich. But it has nothing to do with money.

"Happiness in life is directly tied to the amount of money we earn, wouldn't you agree?"

I have to disagree Ivan. Being able to earn a good living is a satisfying feeling. My happiness is not related to the amount of money I may or may not earn.

All the best,
Michael

Sure thing man. I understand you, but it hard to be happy when you're hungry or can't pay your bills, or are close to living on the streets, so yeah, money is important, but money is not the most important thing in life.
