Improve SEO in Wordpress with just a simple plugin, case study
Yesterday I was checking my sites in SE Ranking
All sites are connected with Google Search Console and with Google Analytics. After checking the website audit I could see that several sites performed pretty bad. Many sites reach a score about 50 of 100 in the website audit and I could see the following issues on multiple sites
- Enable text compression
- Serve static assets with an efficient cache policy
- Eliminate render-blocking resources
- `[id]` attributes on the page are not unique
- Minify CSS
- Reduce JavaScript execution time
- Minimize main-thread work
I tried to install Autoptimize on 5 of my sites. Minutes after installation I could see a massive boost in Google Analytics, results I never seen for these sites before.
I wonder if you also have seen similar results, when using the plugin Autoptimize or maybe any alternative Wordpress plugin?

Minutes after installation? This is just a coincidence. Such changes may take weeks to really take place and to be registered by GA.
Yes, I was also thinking it must take weeks to take effect, maybe should say 1-2 hours instead of minutes, but only an algorithm update can explain this behaviour...otherwise it is correct that the plugin pushed this boost...sites never had so many users before
Interesting. Have you noticed the same or similar effect in all sites where you installed it?
Yes, similar effect in all 5 tested sites. Today all sites perform bad, but usually GA stats get fixed later in the day, I´m using GA through SE ranking
It looks interesting. I wonder if it makes any change for a new website as well because the ranking on my 2 month old website is still pretty weak.
But I'm just thinking I could try it on my old website.

I do also have some new websites thats about 2 months old or so, but very thin of content at the moment, maybe it doesnt make any difference.The sites tested are at least 6 months old
I've updated Wordpress and the plugin says it hasn't been tested with the new version yet so I wonder if it's ok to upload it now.
I updated Wordpress to the latest without any problem, but maybe its not compatible with all plugins
