Hey guys. In Kyle's training he mentions that it's not a good idea to add affiliate links to every post. Fair enough. I was just curious, what is a good frequency to add the li

Good question and I see that mykc724 has responded with a great answer. Thanks for asking the question.

There is no specific rule. If you are reviewing a product, you need affiliate links or it will never sell. if you are just writing an informational post, there is no reason to have any. The vast majority of my pages have affiliate links because the majority of my posts are product reviews.

Got it, thanks for the head's up

There isn't a specific ratio you should stick to, but I prefer to have more posts without affiliate links, as I find that these rank better.

My posts with affiliate links usually act as landing pages - I use my posts without affiliate links to drive traffic to my posts with affiliate links, which is a strategy I recommend you use if you're not already.

For example, I have a post about how to start a gaming youtube channel, which talks about all of the different equipment you need. I don't have any affiliate links on this post, post have internal links to reviews of the equipment that I was talking about which DO have affiliate links on. I have generated a lot of sales through this funnel.

So for all of your product reviews put affiliate links on, but most of your other posts should link to your product review and not have affiliate links on. But ultimately it's up to you!

All the best,
James

Great to know. Thank you for that. So your product reviews are posts essentially, but they just review a specific product?

That is right, yes. Glad you found my response of some use!

Yea this is a good strategy. How do you normally structure your reviews? I see you have a page for reviews, all of your review posts go there?

Well I do both game reviews and equipment reviews, which I structure differently. But basically I just go through all of the features of the product, which a heading for each point I want to talk about. For example, on a headset review, I would do different headings on the comfort, audio quality, customization, negatives etc. Use H3 or H4 tags to split up your content. Just keep going with the training and most of your questions will be answered as you progress further! :)

sounds good, will do, thanks man
