Evening all, just a quick blog on my thoughts of Twitter. A friend of mine who works in SEO for the company he works for, attended a seminar on the power of Twitter. He has passed on a few tips to me.

Try and follow as many people as possible. 100 to 200 per day. (not all will follow back) If your niche is valid to anybody this can be quite simple. If your niche is quite specialized then try and follow people that are relative to your niche.

Tweet up to 20 times a day. Use twitter cards or pinned tweets so that you don't have to keep writing the same thing. You can use something like hootsuit so that you can schedule when your tweets are tweeted, so you don't have to spend any time tweeting once its set up.

Promote your website within your tweet, you can put a link straight to it within the tweet. Use a bit link so it does not take up to many characters.

Don't worry to much about being repetitive. People that saw the tweet earlier will probably not see it later and vice versa.

Tweet to people you follow that have a good number of followers and put #RT within the tweet. They should then retweet your tweet to all their followers.

Happy hours are an excellent platform to promote your site. Search twitter for happy hours and when they are on. Tweet during the happy hour and you will be seen and retweeted by a lot more people.

Once you have followed 2000 people Twitter won't let you follow anymore till your followers number has caught up a bit (1600 i think). This is the time to start un-following people that have not followed you back.

You can even put a bit link straight through to your affiliate. Advertise the product on Twiiter, put a picture of the product, a short description and pitch with the bit link.

You sometimes get messages or followers offering you followers for a fee. I would stay well away, as they are more than likely computer generated followers and not real people.
