How to Change Your Mindset to Write Content.

I come from a background where I wrote many technical reports.

Then I had to do content for my webpage and all I saw is a mountain I have to climb and no inclination of where to start or what to write.

When one write a technical report, it takes place in a systematic format that follows a specific thought process based on the report requirements, subject knowledge and prevailing circumstances.

Now, thinking exactly along the same lines, the only difference is that you may have to do some research on your niche and find how everything fits together, if I can put it that way.

I knew what I wanted to do but could not get going because my mind was workings along the same lines as I am used to where I could comprehend and process several disciplines, observations situations simultaneously and still arrive at a logical outcome.

However, that thought paterns now caused structure overflow for me. Much the same as info overflow, because my mind was putting headings in place without understanding content. Then, when I think about the content, the headings go high wire.

I then decided to show this mountain a thing or two, sat down, wrote every heading on a separate page, and started writing jumping between pages as I comprehended material and doing research where I get stuck.

At times new headings came to mind while some headings and content seemed irrelevant, did not follow line of thought or were in the wrong place. However, I persisted with cutting, moving and re-writing until I could make sense of the chaos. Surprisingly, it did not really take long because my mind quickly adapted to what is required and the rest of the material started to happen as I go along.

I am currently in process of compiling my thoughts in MS word and should soon be able to publish. Not perfect, but I will change as comprehension dictates. At least I now know the mountain was but a mirage.

While this site is taking some time, longer that I anticipated, my next site will go much faster. Best of all, in the process I also came up with a few new ideas.
