That's what I get for taking and applying the WA training!

Up until less than a month ago - I had thought nothing about Pinterest. I knew it was social media platform and had an old personal account . Up until a month ago, I had focused my efforts on traditional platforms like Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. Don't get me wrong. I really still like these platforms; but, there is a lot a work that goes into the driving impressions and engagements.

So once I got my other than Amazon affiliates sources finally lined up on added to my niche site - I decided to explore new ways to promote my blog.

New Ways To Promote

I had been hearing from Kyle and the community that Pinterest could be a good platform - if it fit your niche.

As of May 2020 it was reported that there were 335+ million monthly users of Pinterest. 71% of which being Female. My niche is hydroponics and growing your own healthy food, so it seemed like it would be a good fit. Not that men can't be into eating well; but, let's face it who keeps reminding us to sit down that hamburger and coke once in a while? It's not our best buddy.

So what did I do - I took some WA training. Looking around I found @magistudios series on Pinterest. https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/pinterest-primer I started watching this series and more importantly I applied what Jay taught. In less than a one month my new Pinterest boards have gone from 0 to 11.1 impressions!

Using Data to Drive Efforts

Just pinning the same short video pin to two different boards resulted in nearly 12K impressions! With the Pinterest Business account I now have a wealth of information that will help to refine and target my efforts.

All I can say is that what's I get to listening to Kyle, the WA community and taking the initiative to use the fantastic library of WA resources. Thanks again everyone and especially Jay from @magistudios for contributing to the WA Training.

I hope that this post finds you all well and doing fine in these challenging times.

Steve

Hi Steve,
Nice one! Pinterest definitely has potential for content marketers.
How about Engagement and Link Clicks from Those 11k impressions?
Asking because I feel Video Pins are waste of time though because video pin impression is counted as:
1) at least 50% of the pin is on the screen (could be even any corner)
2) it had been played for 3 seconds
And additionally, Pinterest does not want their users to leave Pinterest, so for video pins, it is not intuitive to get to click through to actual articles on your website.

Also, there are new feature released on Pinterest (probably not all regions yet) called Story Pin, they get also huge impressions within even a few minutes, but you can't link them to your article.

So what seems to be the best option is to create many different (aka NEW) Standart pins for the same article and post them regularly (but not "spam" Pinterest wit the same URL and picture).

So yes, what are Save and Link Click statistics from those 2 video pins?

BR,
Uldis

That is the challenge, isn't it? First, you need to create something that gets impressions - now the next challenge is to see if you can create something that gets engagement. It's like let's get the mailer to the home then we'll see if the mailer can get them to take action on it. The beauty of this is that this is completely organic and I haven't had to pay for promotion. Just pinned another video post yesterday and it has received in less than 24 hours 8K impressions with 56 impressions, 46 closeups, and 1 link click. It doesn't sound like much but compared to FB this is very good. Both of these pins are generating analytics on who, when, and what the audience is reacting to. Using this information, I can refine the process in order to target demographics. You got to start somewhere, this was just my first step with Pinterest.

Exactly! And it is still a good thing (especially if it does not take much time to create a video pin), as there is a chance that the video on that particular board will give boos to other pins on it.
And since Pinterest is typically a long term game (many have spotted that best-performing pins for them are the ones that were posted 20+ weeks ago.
Also would be interesting is to compare how would standard pins perform on the same board if posted frequently).
Anyways Pinterest is fun. I mainly look at Engagement to Impression ratio to understand is the pin actually appealing to others, and then the save and link clicks are just about its relevancy, i.e. do keywords targeted are really doing their job.
There is some correlation between both of them but when looking separately it gives answer to particular questions.

Thank you Steve,
That is really interesting to know.
I will give it a try
Thanks Imelda

If you don't mind please keep me updated on how you do with Pinterest.

Yes, it does - what I am really impressed by is the organic reach you can get with the right pin. I am much happier with the Pinterest analytics than those of other platforms I have used. In my case, the Pinterest demographic fits well with my niche. While a version of the same video post on Facebook produced a slight bump and slightly more engagement than Pinterest, the overall organic reach was nothing like what I saw with Pinterest. If nothing else Pinterest is helping me to target in on the content and organic response I can expect with my campaigns. This really helps when I am looking for which posts to spend funds on promoting.

Hey Steve,

Wow, that's awesome and congratulations.

I've been watching Jay's Pinterest webinars and taking notes. I haven't done anything with it yet but hope to the first part of July.

I'm just getting my stuff packed to move to another Province in Canada.

I have this bookmarked and thank you for sharing your fantastic results.

Monica

It will be worth it once you get a chance to apply his training. Many years ago I drove from Ontario to New Brunswick - it was amazing. Wishing you a safe trip.

That's awesome, Steve, congratulations!

Thanks

Awesome! Pinterest is Awesome!

Glad you like Pinterest.

Congratulations, Steve!

I am also having a lot of success with Pinterest.

Cassi
