Question on Categories

Have a question. Does anyone fill in the categories part of the webpage? Is there an advantage to fill it in or not?

I was wondering because I never put anything into it; but the other day I wanted to make a quick change to one of my websites and try to access it from work real quick. It got blocked by our firewalls and said I couldn't access because categories was set to none.

Anyone have any experience here?

thanks

Ed

Thanks all for the comments. Sounds like a good way and easy way to organize.Guess I better start paying attention to them.

Yes, it's easy to navigate for your visitors. Let's say you have a bootcamp website with blogs about Work from home, SEO, scam etc. you can add them into the category they belong

Once you have more posts than you show on your blog roll your visitors can find stuff that interests them by selecting a category. Hint: I don't show more than 5 posts on my blog roll.

I do, because I can further separate my posts for visitors. If a post is not within your menu, they can be found in the categories should you set it up that way. For instance, my posts fall under categories like, recording, mixing, composition, etc. Each review can typically be categorized in one of those. I plan to further expand my categories to a few more, just to be more thorough.
