I just posted my About Me page and this message popped up that's not in the training.

"Awesome, your post has been published!
Give it a boost and request some engagem

Comments are not required on the About me Page or Post
so just move on with a No Thanks or Maybe Later :)

HI, Hona,
You need credits to do this so if you havent any you can buy them or you can earn them by offering comments on other websites.

Getting comments on our websites does help also as Scott as explained to you too. Scott is @merlynmac by the way. :)

Debs :)

You can ignore that message for now but eventually you want to get on "websites" and offer comments and requests some comments on your posts/pages.

Thank you, I'll follow your advice!

This is the part of the training that introduces you to the site feedback and site comments tools. You can continue without it if you wish but I do recommend you try them out at least once. One piece of advice...site feedback is about giving constructive feedback on a site or post, things like layout, use of images, colors, type of content and so on. Site comments are all about commenting on the post in a way that shows you read it and are engaging to further discussion on that post. An example would be “Thankd for the post on the different DJI drones available. I like the portability of the Mavic Air but, if I wanted the best possible image quality and portability wasn’t the top priority would you recommend something else?”, etc.

Thanks for providing this. I'm definitely going to do this at a later time.

Happy to help.

yes you can move forward without doing that part. It's an invitation to join the site comment sharing, and you can do that at any time

Ok, thanks for letting me know.

I wanted to send Kyle a private message but says I can’t ask for feedback until I’ve helped 2 others first? I’m a premium member I thought this was included a

It's other WA members, just like yourself, who provide feedback. The rules, which have been in place for many years, stipulate that you must give feedback on 2 other websites before you can ask for feedback on your own website. This is part of the "pay it forward" principle which WA is renowned for.

Go to Kyle profile, and PM him there directly.

If you're asking for site feedback, then go to site feedback and you have to give 2 feedbacks before you request for your site feedback.

This is when I’ve created a website already and want other members to give me feedback?

I’m looking to ask Kyle a question and he’s usually very fast in responding and he hasn’t replied yet so that’s when I came across this.

It's ok. Like Erica says Kyle will reply as soon as he can. If you want someone to give feedback on your site, please go to site feedback and give 2 feedbacks in exchange for 1 feedback on your site. This will help and improve your site health, as well.

If you have other question, please let us know, We're here to help you.

thank you!

Are you clicking on the envelope icon at the far RHS of the top of the page?

I'm not sure about this - I can still send private messages.

Sounds like you're on the Site Feedback page maybe?

I think that’s what happened, thanks.

no problem. I hope you get a reply back from Kyle soon. Remember, there's lots of us who can help too:)

I’ve been told not to use contractions for my website ie they’re, isn’t, haven’t and instead separate the words, they are, have not and is not. I starte

I have noticed that they can not be used in live chat

I agree with what others' comments that using contractions can help you sound genuine and natural. Blog readers tend to like writing that's casual, direct, and brisk, and contractions can help your writing come across that way. Keep your audience in mind, and write as if you're chatting with them about your niche. I wish you great success!

Thanks for your feedback.

I too use contractions in places as it is natural sounding. Do you have a large international audience that might not understand them? That would be the only reason I can think of for not using them.

Good question.

Hello honakim, I have been using contractions also and I have not run into any problems. I also think like you and others that it sounds better, like you are talking to someone. Wish you success,
Ruben

I’m so glad you feel the same way I do, thanks for your feedback!

Wish you success as well!

More importantly than anything is that you are being yourself and that you sound genuine. I use contractions all the time and you will find them in popular posts as well. You can write however you want, don't worry about being perfect, just write what you think sounds good.

I just want it to sound good but changing it wouldn’t feel as genuine to me. Someone gave me that advice and was giving me a hard time about it...

Thanks for your feedback! I appreciate it!

Different people write differently and unfortunately many of them feel that their way is the only way.

I agree
