How much responsibility do you think affiliate programs like Awin and Rakuten should take between the publisher and advertiser?

I recently

Okay, sounds like the issue is with Rakuten, not Awin. I just wanted to make that clear.

Some networks don't provide any support in those situations. Sadly you found one of them.

Which network you work with does make a difference. All networks are not created equal, and don't operate the same way.

Sorry you're having this experience.

Yep, the issue is not with Awin. I only mentioned Awin because I'm curious to see if it's mad of me to expect that kind of support from networks. The manager was rather rude to me and I was quite taken aback.

For further guidance, please reach out to Awins WA rep Jeannine

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/jeanninec

Thanks

You're very welcome.

This is not an Awin issue

Thanks for sharing my info. Fortunately it wasn't about Awin, but I'm glad that so many folks know I'm here and ready to help for both Awin and ShareASale.

Hi - perhaps you should ask Jeannine for her view on the subject as she is the official representative of Awin.

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/jeanninec

Thanks

Hey Diane, her problem wasn't with Awin, it was with Rakuten. She just tossed our name in there to see if the Awin reaction would be the same poor service as Rakuten was. Obviously by my rapid response here, we do things differently (better!) at Awin!

Hi - yes, I just thought it might be interesting for us to get the insider point of view on networks!

I could tell you stories..... but I must remain professional and politically correct.

But one day, after I retire, boy can I share stuff!!!

Hi,

I have just noticed a site in India has taken about 50 of my articles and posted them on their site. They have backlinks to my site, but still, this doesn't sit righ

Duplication of anything is illegal. It doesn't sit well with Google, friend. So, don't be engaged with it. Stop that site from doing damage to your hard work. All the best!

That is so not fair. I hope you are able to get them taken down.

Lily

Thanks, waiting for Google to do their magic- I hope!

Thanks!

It is awesome to see you've got some help from GoDaddy, hope you're able to resolve this sooner.

And you're very welcome.

They said they can help. I just hope they carry through!

Kindly keep us updated on your progress.

GoDaddy doesn't host their website, they only bought the domain name from them so they can't take down the site.
I have filed a copyright claim with Google, I hope they will remove the whole site. They've taken over 100 articles from my site!

I am sorry GoDaddy could not help, however I am hoping Google would be able to help. It is nuisance.

Hi - you can request Google to remove them with a DMCA request.

A DMCA notice informs a company, web host, search engine, or internet service provider that they are hosting or linking to material that infringes on a copyright. The party that receives the notice should take down the material in question as soon as possible.

Should be in Google's legal pages somewhere.

It looks like DMCA charge to remove duplicate content.

Hi - there are private firms that claim to do this on your behalf for payment, but I'm pretty sure Google does it for free. I cant add a link for some reason but search Google Copyright Help Center.

Believe this may be the link, I just remove the question mark after the numbers

https://support.google.com/legal/answer/3463239

I think I've found it. But for now, I emailed godaddy who host the website. They said they should be able to take it down. Thanks for your help!

No, tell them to remove the articles.

I emailed them and got a delivery error!

Hi all, does anyone have any experience with the Nordstrom affiliate program? They are behind on paying me and no one is replying to any of my emails. I'm not really sure what

Sad but true, not the first time I've heard this issue.

I'm not showing the program on Rakuten, but rather on Shopstyle. How did you get approved into their program?

Have you heard of this issue with Nordstrom?
It's on Rakuten, but they're not being too helpful either.

We are not affiliates marketers of Nordstrom, but found the following info.

Being a Nordstrom affiliate, you will receive 2% commission per sale. The publishers would receive their payments on monthly basis. You must reach at least $25 to receive commissions. The payment option is Check.

It looks like Nordstrom affiliate program may be managed by LinkShare.

Thanks, I'm really looking for someone who's had experience with them. I'm already an affiliate of theirs and they owe me a few hundred dollars.

That is a lot of commission owed. Do you contact them thru LinkShare.

I've tried every way! I guess I'll just have to wait it out...

Does anyone have a logical explanation for this? For the past couple of months, I've been unwell and unable to work.

The odd thing is that my visits and sales are increas

It's totally possible. Your content is performing well; Google recognizes that and is showing your in their results more often.

That's one of the beautiful things about affiliate marketing sites. If you have good content, you don't have to constantly add more to still be successful. (That doesn't mean never add more content, but you can ride on this success for a while.)

Relax and enjoy while it lasts. One day it may start decreasing, but you now know you've hit on a popular niche with great content, so keep following this as you prepare additional posts.

Thanks! I have every intention of getting back to my site, but not for another month or so. I'm currently 12 weeks pregnant and HG has riddled me of doing everything, so work really has to wait!
It will be about 3 months off from posting new content- I hope Google doesn't notice too much!

As long as your readers keep staying so satisfied with what they are already finding on your site, Google will be okay with it too.

Congrats on your new little one!

I don't how that is possible friend. If you haven't been communicating with your customers, then that will be your downfall later.
This is the best time to take and thank them. Unless all that is done automatically for you by using an autoresponder, then you're all set "temporarily". What I mean by this is that not all customer will behave the same.
Some of them may change their mind and want a refund. This is where your interaction will be needed. If they are not being treated like they're valuable, then they will most likely not return and do business with you again. Just some thoughts on this. All the best!

As an affiliate marketer, I don't have any customers, nor any physical products. No one is buying anything from me so no one will be disappointed.

My bad. Your title of your blog and story doesn't make sense. Let me quote you, "The odd thing is that my visits and sales are increasing dramatically". From this statement, it's impossible to not have any customers or have anyone not buying from you. It doesn't have to be physical products. Affiliate marketing has various products. Please clarify yourself when writing your blog for better communication. All the best!

No offense, but I totally understood what she meant immediately. It's a given on WA that she is an affiliate and that the visits and sales are the result of her affiliate marketing activities.

No offense also friend. But she clearly responded back with an explanation saying she doesn't have any customers. Then who's buying from her to have any sales? Somebody is going to her website and making a purchase whether it's a physical product or digital. I truly don't know how you know what she meant when she had responded back with more confusion.
I've never seen an affiliate marketer makes money without customers. A blogger probably can with Google adsense. Lol!
I'll leave it at this. All the best!

No, they are clicking through a link on her site to a merchant's site and making a purchase there.

As you can see, I was still in the sense that she was selling something on her site. She did not specify if it was just through affiliate links. I guess I was focused on her actual words and not her getting sales through her affiliate links. Thanks. All the best!

Google changes their algorithms constantly, so this also could be the result of sites that outranked you, now ranking lower. As long as you have value-add content, as your site ages, your ranking should remain high or move up.

Seems there was a big Google update in July. perhaps that's the reason!

It takes time for blogs to make it. If you practice good SEO, your posts will rank over time. Without knowing any specifics about your blog, it's hard to tell. But ultimately if you do proper keyword research, write good copy, and it's properly SEO'd, it will rank over time. Sounds like you might be enjoying the fruits of your labor.

Google has a weird way of working! I guess we'll never really understand it fully!

It sounds like you have good content and niche products that are in high demand. This is wonderful news.

Just keep on doing what you are doing. Choose your keywords wisely, write helpful original content, perform the SEO steps for your posts.

Check your results in Google Analytics and Google Search Console. It will give you a great insight into your query words and your traffic behavior.

We are so very excited for you.

Thanks!
My analytics and search console don't show anything out of the ordinary, just a boost overall!
