I really need some motivation!
Hi everyone,
It's been close to a month since I've done anything WA-related, but I wanted to write a blog post anyway in the hopes that some encouraging words from others might get me back on the wagon.
I started a new job last month, which is my first excuse. When I joined WA, I was mostly unemployed and had a much larger chunk of time every day to devote to building and posting on my website, ArtCompletes.Us. I'm on Course 2, Lesson 10, and just haven't found the time since starting my new position to continue.
I also have a very large chunk of writing due for my side job as an independent contractor. Whenever I DO find extra time between working, commuting (1 hour each way), and getting enough sleep, I feel that my loyalty should be to finishing this writing project before doing anything for myself (i.e., internet marketing). But I am also dreading/procrastinating all the work that still needs to be done for that project to be completed.
So, I'm in a state of "analysis paralysis," so to speak. I am so overwhelmed by the amount of work due that I don't know where/how to start, so I don't do anything. If I spent that time working on WA stuff instead, I would feel guilty for putting time an effort into my third priority instead of just finishing up my second priority first (after which I will have all the time in the world to focus on WA).
Long story short, I really need a giant kick in the butt. Any ideas or advice that you care to offer (on my situation as well as my website), would be welcomed. It's hard to stay motivated when you have another full-time job that's sucking all your energy for 50 hours a week! How do you wonderful people do it?

Hey Holly,
I think we all run into phases like this throughout the various stages of our businesses. It is natural and the only way to overcome it is through "doing". I wrote a post the other day on the most powerful and proven way to create success online, something that I have personally been doing over the past 12 years and I think this will put things into perspective for you.

Hope this helps you out! :)
Thanks, Kyle! I really appreciate your support through every step of my journey here.
I don't want, or plan, to give up - but finding the time for this in addition to a career is going to be an adjustment. Hopefully things will fall into place as long as I keep moving forward in any tiny way that I can.
Hey there, Remember it's not how much time you put in to something it's how much you can get out of the time you spend on it. Take everything one step at a time. Get the most out of that step. I also have trouble getting motivated and I work from home. In a way I wish I had a real job that way I would have a out. lol I say that cause we all look for an excuse of why we can't. If I may go to youtube and put in the search box rocky balboa inspirational speech.

I know (roll your eyes) lol but if you listen to the words and truly hear what he is saying then it's almost like a light bulb switching on. There are other speeches in the rocky saga that tell us why we should be motivated in life and everything we do. So to end this I will say stick to the lessons and step by step (small ones) will lead to you walking in no time at all. I hope this has helped you.
Okay, I did roll my eyes a bit, but I think we need to glean inspiration from wherever we can, even if its a little cheesy! Thanks for the kind words and for taking the time.
Hi Holly. My suggestion would be - go do something for yourself. Treat yourself with something. I don't know what your likes are but ... take a walk or a run, go to swimming poll, sauna, take a massage, anything...
Something to switch off for a while. Than come back and do the damn second priority:) Remember - this work is your best friend. Do it with care and love and not with resistance.
I feel motivation comes from within but you can be inspired by others who do what your trying to. I was like you when I first started. Information overload and it can be tricky to get started if you are unsure about what direction you wish to take.
Since you are new I would keep learning and checking things out here and seeing what people are doing online so you can get an idea of what you want to do in the internet arena. You look like a very sharp person so I am sure you are going to do some great things!
Though I am one of those with the fortune of being able to do wa with little extra responsibilities, I have had days where I was reluctant to do much. I have had lazy days too, but sometimes it is alright to loosen up abit and relax. Being uptight about wasted time is not going to solve much. If it takes longer to succeed so be it. Just don't give up on the marathon.
We'll all have our struggles. Just keep on going :)
