Funny How Things Turn Out But I Need Your Help
I was talking to a neighbour today. I was actually asking her to take a look at my website and leave some comments (after telling her about WA of course). After she had taken a look she popped round for a coffee and we started chatting about websites and stuff.
It transpires that her Dad has a business local to us that sells and fits kitchen worktops. He has a website up and running but it is more of a window on the business as you cannot buy online, and I was asked to take a look and offer some suggestions.
Poor Nikki probably wished she hadn't asked me as I offered her loads of suggestions to make the site look better, offer more information and be a better experience for the customer. She now has her work cut out to make good all the changes I suggested.
However, one thing came out of this. The site is getting traffic but it is not area specific (we are in Essex UK and they are getting traffic from the US).
This is where I need your help. Can you give me any ideas that would help them get more local traffic. Problem is they do not have a blog on their site and although I have suggested this (for reviews of products, new products etc) I think Nikki's Dad is a bit reluctant (probably through ignorance) to do this.
Anyway, as I said it is funny how things work out as I really enjoyed looking over the site and offering suggestions and improvements. Maybe I should look at starting a local marketing business. It is something I hadn't considered before.
Watch this space.

I would take a look at some of the training videos done by Jay on local marketing. I know it's effective in the US and Canada but not sure about the UK.
P.S. Sorry I don't know the answer to your question, but maybe others with more experience can help.
You are an inspiration to all of us. I thank you for all the help and suggestions you have given me. You're a blessing!!!
