Two near catastrophes, yet two things I'm thankful for.
ALWAYS FIND THE GOOD IN EVERY CIRCUMSTANCE.
Today was an interesting day in my household. I was dealing with a 12-year-old hot water heater that was oozing hot water into my cellar with a nasty leak. I noticed it when I went down to do my laundry. That's alright, I thought, it didn't owe me anything, as I've had it two years past it's lifespan. So, I would just have to get a new one installed by the gas company on Monday.
HURRY! CALL THE GAS COMPANY!
Next, for the time being, my fiance, Tony, installed a device that would stop the leak for now. So, all was fine--or was it? As he was working down there, Tony started smelling a funny gas odor. It was getting worse and worse, so I immediately called the emergency gas company number and a worker was at my home within 15 minutes.
AN UNSTEADY SIGH OF RELIEF.
Come to find out that I had a slow gas leak in an ancient pipe in my basement! It could have been deadly! If the hot water heater hadn't malfunctioned, I may not have noticed it right away, or not at all! Scary, huh?!
A BLESSING IN DISGUISE? ABSOLUTELY!
So, the gas man turned off my gas right away and I have to find and hire an expert to come in and replace my pipe with the leak---a pipe that is not even up to code anymore!
So, I'm thankful for the performance my old water heater has given me for the past 12 years, and for the new one I will get in it's place.
I'm thankful that it conked out when it did, or we would not have noticed the gas leak, AS IT WAS RIGHT ABOVE THE HOT WATER HEATER!!!
I'm thankful that I will be able to handle getting a new pipe, thanks to WA, as it may cost a bundle! (Although, I will have to take ice cold showers for the next few days and will not be able to cook on the stove.) But, thankfully, it's warm enough, so I don't need the heat!
...and I'm thankful for fresh air in my lungs! (and that me and my kitties are safe!)
All is well.

Ohh.. How very dangerous. Happy it all turned out this way for you, Erin.
Beautiful phrase, BTW-"blessing in disguise":)
Gosh Erin, that's scary! A near catastrophe! I believe things happen for a reason, and you are truly blessed it all worked out the way it did. Glad you're all safe.
(big sigh of relief) I am a firm believer that God/The Universe/ Life has our best interests at heart and I am glad to hear of just one more instance of that.
Wow! Some things happens for a reason Erin. Thank the Lord he was warning you!
It would be bad for your followers like me. I would have to talk to you in my prayers for web ideas Erin.
Will God charge me for communication to heaven or would he.
Be safe my friend! We need you here on WA.
Frank =(
Thanks, Frank. I am well taken care of and am always guided. :)! It was quite a fright, though, I must say! But having things all work out in every circumstance comes through faith.

So glad you had a leaky water heater. It is funny though how something that should get you down, turns out to be the best thing.
Yes, it's so incredible!
