A word of advice about adding affiliates
LISTEN UP!
I just came across some valuable information to know when adding affiliates to your website.
DON'T ADD THEM TOO EARLY!
Wait until your site is structured with content, photos, menus, blogs, etc. It should also be getting a good amount of traffic on it, too.
WAIT!
If you add the affiliates too early, they may reject your application, or you could lose your account due to lack of sales.
Develop your site first and get a few hundred visitors or so in a given week. Then, when you add the affiliates, chances are that you will get some sales and adhere to the sales status rules.
READ UP!
Make sure you read the Rules and Regulations thoroughly before applying. There is so many glitches in contracts that can immediately expel you if you don't abide by any part of the terms.
I just tell you this to save you from wasted time, as my account was twice deleted from Amazon, and I don't even know why! I had hundreds of links on all 3 of my affiliate sites! They simply just bumped me off--and I was making a good deal of sales!
I care about you enough to write this! Happy affiliating!
Erin :)!

Thank you. Great advice as always.
It sounds like you have some experience and all experience can be helpful in the long run.

Thank you for the advice. I need to start driving traffic to my site before I apply for affiliate programs.
They bumped me off, too, Erin, but I didn't have anything going on with my 2 worthless websites (rip off). Good advice. I'm not re-applying until I have some activity on my site. Carol
LOL, I definitely tri to get an affiliate with an unfinished site. A newbie move:)
Thanks for the advice Erin.
Thank you for your blog post-Erin. First of all, I'm sorry to hear about your experience with Amazon, it doesn't make sense when you're making sales, I don't see the common sense in companies doing this! Did you read Kyle's post about Nuance? Here is the link, it makes for interesting reading! Nuance Affiliate Program - A Lesson How NOT to Treat Affiliates I actually use Dragon naturally speaking or Dragon unnaturally speaking as I sometimes call it, I was also refused for their affiliate program.
I hear what you're saying Erin about adding content first, I was fortunate with my first website back in 2007, I had the back office built first so that I could add content, so when my website went live, there was loads of content! I made a sale within the first twenty-four hours!
Enjoy your weekend.

Yes, I did catch Kyle's post, but it's worth reviewing again! Thanks for posting it here. It'll be helpful to others, too! Great insight, too!
Sigh, I just signed up on Amazon a day ago, but I only have one product review page on my site. I may contact Amazon and see if I can drop out now and sign up again later.
If you're already signed up and approved, then stay with them now! You can build as you go--it's better than having to re-apply.
OK, I'd better get to writing then! I give my self three months to get 50 pages of product reviews and advice.
Thank you for this! A gem of information, absolutely. So sorry your account has been deleted multiple times now though - how frustrating that could be. :\
Yes, I worked for months on all the links, only to have them all deleted. But, I didn't quit and give up! Instead, I went on to build a WA promotion site that's doing great. :)! Live and learn!

Isn’t part of this training to add a couple of affiliate I guess you have to take the good with the bad I have several affiliate nobody has drop me but have been denied by a few in the beginning hopefully this won’t happen to me with the affiliates I have I have not had any sales not much traffic yet we will see.
More power to you! That's great! I had a different experience. However, adding affiliate links early also adds a lot to your site!
