Handy Resources and Tips
It has been so helpful to me to see what kinds of resources other people are using as I continue along my WA journey. I'll add a few. Some are things that others have mentioned recently, but they're so useful I think it's worth mentioning again!
Make Time Online Podcast
This podcast done by one of our WA members, Mike Beatty, has been very helpful to me in getting ideas on building my business. Topics like SEO, Pinterest, Headlines, and more. Feel free to check it out! https://lnns.co/rz-jAKTOlE8
Gravatar- https://en.gravatar.com/
This allows you to create a profile image that you can link to all of your sites, comments, etc. I wondered early on how people got their picture to show up when they commented on other people's sites and their own. Here's the way!
Canva- https://www.canva.com/
Canva is an AWESOME free tool with tons of templates and options to create beautiful pinterest pins, facebook posts, twittter tweets, things for your posts, etc. I use it every time I create a new post! There is a paid version, but I've only used the free one. This is a great training on Canva by Jay https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/hello-canva.
Coschedule Headline Analyzer https://coschedule.com/headline-analyzer
This is a great tool that helps you "fabulize" your headlines to make them more interesting and have a higher chance at people clicking on them.
Image Resizer
https://imageresizer.com/bulk-resize
Do you have an image that's too big? Toss it in here and shrink it to whatever size you'd like! (Beware though that sometimes shrinking an image too much can distort the picture.)
Tiny PNG
Are you image files too big? Run them through this little guy and you can save on TONS of space. I wish I had known this sooner, I ended up going back through quite a few of my first posts to fix the pictures!
TIPS:
*If you haven't already, I would suggest creating a Gmail account for your business.
Some potential uses:
- a place to send all business-related info
- When signing up for different things like Canva, it is super nice to have one central spot to send the follow-up emails to
- Create documents in the Google Drive for all kinds of things. For example, I have documents to keep track of where I post each blog post (Pinterest, FB, etc), map out my business goals and keep a master list of low-hanging keywords I can use to write future posts.
- use it as a central spot to track information you want to come back to (blog posts from WA, specific things from trainings, thoughts that come to mind, etc.
*Set SMART Goals! Specific Measureable Attainable Relevant Timebound
As Kyle directs in the trainings, setting goals can greatly increase our chances of success and progressing they way we would like to. Specific goals push me to do just that much more so I can achieve them within the time frame I have chosen.
*Limit time spent on social media. This is definitely not the first time you've heard this nor will it be the last! Social media can turn into a huge time-waster if we aren't careful. I have been sucked in many times and suddenly I find myself an hour later with nothing accomplished.
*Have fun! Things may take longer than you had planned or be more difficult than anticipated, it's all part of the ride!
I hope you have found something useful that you can take action on today! Best of luck moving forward!
