What is the meaning of Christmas?
Hello my WA Friends
I was a little absent from WA posts during the last few days. I am feeling like already in holiday and allow myself some leisure time.
This time of the year is for getting still and think about ourselves, our lives and our existence in this world. We cannot do that with all the noise around us, so we just need to decide to take a break.
Understanding the Meaning of this period of time
If Christmas means something to you - and also if it doesn't: How is Christmas understood by each individual? You have your own idea about it, and that's ok. Watching the video I post below you will find out that your attitude towards Christmas is shared by many people, by those who are on the same level of personal development as yourself.
And all ideas about Christmas or religion altogether are valid, no right or wrong here. You may remember that your own attitude has changed through the years - and this is normal. Maybe you were a dedicated believer in god and now you believe in science, just as an example.
The evolution of the meaning we give to Christmas
In the Video below you will be guided through the evolution of ideas about the meaning of Christmas which are present in our lives and in our societies. So if you want to dig deeper and understand a little more about the meaning of festivities like Christmas watch

Hi Heidi, I think you could not add a video, this is the problem I encountered in the past.
As far as I remember, the Christmas coincides with festivities Sol Invictus, related with Roman empire tradition. Later, when Christianity became popular, they could not root the old festivities out, so they adapted it for Christians by giving it another name. This is not the only example in Christian tradition.
By this I do not mean to belittle the importance of it of course. In fact, not everybody agrees with this story.
I was surprised that the video came up, myself!
Yes, in the video we are speaking about Sol Victus, too and the origins of the celebration of light through history. Christmas is another face of the same story.
And now the video was gone and I had to add the link again. Before the link turned into the video when pressing enter......
This is strange, the video has disappeared. It was there before to my own surprise, now gone. The link turned into the video like in normal social media. I need to post the link again.
Thanks for letting me know, Loes!
Yes, I think so, you add a random link, then you go to edit, and you paste the youtube link in the place of the random link, and you give it a title
I think its a time to get together with friends and family and to look over the previous year and plan for the next one.
Personally, I think Christmas is all a bit daft. It is a good excuse to see family members I don't often see, but apart from that I think it's blown all out of proportion really. I mean, why do we all have to do this on the exact same day? Seeing family members and giving gifts in the winter to make ourselves feel better is all great but we don't have to do it all on the same day.
Thanks for your comment, Marcus! I do think that today Christmas is out of proportion for the shopping craziness going on everywhere. If you don't celebrate the religious moments there is still a huge benefit of getting out of the usual treadmill all together at the same time. All competition can stop for a moment and you don't need to bother that you miss something in emails, business etc. because everyone has the same time out. That's what I think here.
Thanks Heidi and for me Christmas is so different now with the modern input which in a way has spoilt the beauty
This is one of the stages of development in which many of us are in, Paul. A necessary step in evolution!
