find something you love and that may become your niche. also, research it to see if it's something that is trending.

While it's perfectly okay to chase your dreams, I would venture to say not so much with a niche. Go for what you are passionate about. You most likely already know what that is. Let it come to you and before you know it, you will become the expert.

Take the time to do thorough research and don't hesitate to speak your mind when you write. Not everyone will be on board but, chances are there are those out there that are just as passionate about your chosen niche as you are and they will be the ones to follow you, as you do them!

I agree with PeterMay, Heather, that you become expert as you start wanting to write.,, and find you don't know all you need to know. I chose a niche from within my own age group.. I have found that gives me a lot of latitude... because I, myself experience the issues of that same group. It helps me feel connected. My first niche was way out of my age range and it just did not go well, so I chose a new one... much easier for me with this one.

I think a lot of people go through this issue Heather.
I have a few things I'm Passionate about and the main one is my wife and family. So I found a niche that was relevant to this passion and that I knew I'd be able to write about with the help of lots and lots and lots of research.
I'm by no means an expert on my niche but I have no doubt that I soon will be. You won't start off as an authority on your chosen subject, the aim is to become an authority in it. Research and then research some more.

Hi Heather, I might not be that experienced but I think if you use your ideas, your experience and your research that would be a good remedy to accomplish what you"re after.

I had problems when I first started out, and all I was doing was waisting time. find something that you are passionate about, and the content will come easy. nothing is perfect in life, you are going to make mistakes.thats how we learn tho. so that's why I think starting with something that you love will make the training easier, and don't wait any longer, the longer you wait the harder it is to get started . you can do this, we are all here for you for help.

It's difficult, that's for sure, my advice is this, let the idea come to you. Try not to force it, it will come and when it does, there will be no stopping you.
