Be Very Careful About Purchasing a Theme from ThemeAlley

I definitely do not recommend ThemeAlley, based on my experience. My husband wanted me to purchase it so we could (we thought) have more options in how to set up a website we are working on. We purchased the premium version of ThemeAlley Business Pro for $55.

We could not get it to work for us. In fact we could not figure it out. I went to their forum to look for help. I found very brief instructions for installation that were not at all detailed. I could not find anywhere a place that gave step-by-step instructions on how to set up and use the product.

I emailed the company and asked for a refund. The first time, I got no response. The second time I emailed, I got this response: "Theme works as advertised and I have a no refund policy." That was it.

When I emailed back explaining how dissatisfied I was and why, the company then emailed a link to some instructions that were not very detailed, at least not enough so that I could figure out how to use this theme. He said that if I had further questions, I should go to their forum. (I did not get an answer the first time I went there, and the company person answered another customer using profanity, repeating what he said the customer called him--not what I want to read.)

If you do decide to purchase a theme from ThemeAlley, make absolutely certain you know that it is what you want and that you can figure out how to use it with instructions that are not very detailed and with poor customer service. If you are a beginner like I am, I advise that you steer clear of them.

This is just my opinion, based on my experience. Do be careful, however, as you will not be able to get a refund or very helpful customer support.

Thanks for that. I was just checking it out and preparing to make a purchase.

Thanks for the heads up!

Thanks for the warning!

I like to have full control of my websites and found that even with some so-called full blown, all-inclusive websites there still is a lot that you can't do or have control over. When it comes to sites you have to pay for, I would expect a "Dummies Guide" to setting it up - after all, the creators are demanding money for a product that is heralding their creativity.

Should ask for more help and include link to this topic.
