WA - Initial Impressions
At First Glance
There's a huge amount of information to swim through here - for someone brand new to WA, online business and general netiquette, but I think I have a small fingernail hold on it now.
There seems to be 2 'sides' to WA:
- The 'business' side - the training and the implementation of that training and
- The 'social' side - the blogging here at WA, the live chat and the commenting on blogs, videos and training etc.
The Business Side
This seems fairly straightforward as the main training is offered up in action steps that have been polished over time (an aside, I've yet to delve deeply into these, that will be happening soon).
There are also complementing trainings on offer from other members that expand on the core units.
The team at WA certainly seem to know what they are doing and, reading the comments in some sections the 'technical' side of the business seems to rate highly in members' opinions - which is certainly a good thing to hear as I'm bound to make a few howlers of mistakes going forward, so it's good to hear there is a worthy safety net!
I'm sure there's more to the business side but I'll discover those missing chunks as I go forward.
The Social Side
This side (the 'cool' side of the pillow!)
- There is so much going on here, it's almost like another website! We have:
1. Live Chat - a place for instant interaction and a great place to get your question answered by people who have been where you are right now.
2. Ask A Question - a more formal way to get the information you want but a way that stays available for a ,ot longer than the answers from Live Chat.
3. Comments - the ability to leave a comment on almost anything on this site is, I think, a massive help and one route I know I'll be exploiting heavily going forward.
4. Networking - The ability to build a network of followers and followees(?) within the site is again, a massive plus (so many pluses!)
5. WA Blogs - a place for opinions, ideas, points of view exchanges and business validations can only, in my opinion, be a good thing and, of course, you have the comments left after the publication.
With all this training and help available 24/7/365 - I cannot see how, if followed, I can fail (I'm sure there will be falls, trips and stumbles but, as has been said: "It's not how many times you go down but how many times you get back up"

Initially, I used WA blogs as a way to practice writing and get instant feedback. Another advantage of WA Blog posts is they are available on the search engines right away since WA is an authority so someone could click on your WA post which you would get them as a referral if they come to WA. One of my Premium referrals came that way.

This is good to know Mel! I guess I didn't realize our WA blogs are public and will get indexed by the search engines. I also didn't know our blog posts are automatically connected to us as a WA referral if someone does find one of our posts and ends up joining WA. That's really good to know! I think it's probably important to keep that in mind when writing blog posts here. I wonder if anyone has ever built a solid WA referral business 100% through the use of their WA blog alone. 🤔 That would be an excellent and interesting case study!
I would doubt you could do that with WA blog post alone. I have written over 1000 WA blog posts although the majority were deleted for various reasons over the years, Dave.
But it sure doesn't hurt at all to put up a post a day even. There is a limit to 3 WA blog posts in a 24 hour period.

Hi there Mel, I didn't know about the indexing - a joy if it happens but I'll not be seeking it. Thanks for your comment.
Welcome Harben, you summarized WA so well. You got it. I would just add that I believe the two aspects you delineated so well complement each other and without one the other would be limping along. Here’s to your success 🥂
I have to agree with you Mark - the lines blur very easily and, as you said, they complement each other extremely well.
Hi Harben, and welcome to WA! I think you've done an excellent job summarizing the WA platform here. If you decide to promote WA as your niche, you have the makings of an excellent review article! 😉
I wanted to add one more comment to this... I retired from a job in Corporate America on May 17th. I was at that company since 2007 and in the industry for 34 years. The ONLY thing I miss is the interaction with co-workers, either via Teams chat, Zoom, txt messages, or phone calls. For me, the social side of WA really helps fill that void for me on a daily basis. I think if I didn't have WA right now, with the ability to interact with others, ask & answer questions, share the ups & downs, etc, I'd be going stir crazy! So for that reason, I really appreciate the social aspects of WA immensely!
Connection is so important for everyone whether they realize it or not, It can add years to a person's life.

Hi Dave - appreciate your point of view and also many thanks for the idea about promoting WA as an affiliate - I'll bear it in mind as and when I go down that path.

Welcome to WA , Dave!
Best wishes for your success here on this platform!
Not entirely certain whether this comment was meant for me, but I'll take it anyway. Thanks Howard
Sorry Harben! I scan to verify peoples names to respond to and got it wrong. Yes, the comment was meant for you.
Then it's doubly appreciated Henry.. I mean: Howard
