12 Days To Profit
The Plan
OK, so Christmas is long gone but it is 12 days til Valentine's Day 2025 (from date of writing) and I have decided to hit the ground and see if I can, with the help of AI and Pinterest:
- Create a digitally downloadable product
- Create a sales funnel on my website
- Create a Pinterest account
- Produce pins that go 'viral'
- Drive 1000 buyers to the site through Pinterest alone.
According to various resources, the best way to start with a brand new Pinterest account (which mine is) is to publish 10-30 high quality, targeted pins per day.
I'll need to pay attention to a color palette that reflects the content of the pins, have titles and text that tells the viewer exactly what they're seeing, a good, highly engaging bio and, of course, a clear CTA (Call-to-action).
My intention is to only have 1 product available on the site that is tightly wound in with the Valentine's Day subject so, hopefully, those attracted to the pins will happily click through to my offer and have no concerns about purchasing it.
Once Valentine's Day has passed, I can then analyze the results and create more digtally downloadable products for anniversaries and birthdays etc. along the lines of the product I'm creating here.
The Stats
Now, this is a pure numbers game as the stats I've seen for Pinterest pin click through rates vary between 0.5% and 5% - if we say a 2% click through rate, in order to get 1000 visitors (not buyers...yet) to my site, I will need 50,000 people to see my pinterest pins. Gulp!
Buut it doesn't end there, 1000 visitors to my site does not equal 1000 buyers (boo-hoo). The industry 'norm' for targeted vistors to a highly targeted and well-written sales page is anywhere between 2 and 5% which would equal 20-50 purchases.
So, working backwards, I need between 20,000 and 50,000 visitors to my website to get 1000 buyers at the industry norm, which means I need 2.5M views (2,500,000) on my pins to achieve this number of visitors - oo-er!
