Another day or a new day within Wealthy Affiliate?

Whichever it is,
Some of you may not grasp how vast the scope of Affiliate Marketing 'yet'.
And this is exactly the reason of why I write this blog.

Note : Before you read this blog, make sure you have read my other blog called "Introduction to Affiliate Marketing" - just to make sure you get how it works.

Here is the link : https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/hansenlin/blog/int...

If you have read it, I can assume that you get the idea of how it will work
And you won't have much trouble reading this post

First thing First - How Many Type of Affiliate Marketing?

The question above is actually very vague.

We can differentiate Affiliate Marketing based on many points of view, that is why I said the question is very vague. Let's change the question a bit:
How do we differentiate type of Affiliate Marketing?

Now I can start answering your question :D
LOL

To differentiate Affiliate Marketing, we can use several points of view which are :

  • Attachment to Offers
  • Source of Offers
  • Verticals
  • Traffic Sources
  • Marketing Strategies

Basically those points are made by professionals called as Super-Affiliates (people who have already been in this business for years and have earned $xx.xxx/wk or $xxx.xxx/mo), so you can rely on this information, I'm not making up any false info.

And I know about this whole stuffs because I have been exploring this business doing research.

Back to the topic!

A. Attachment to Offers

This point is divided based on how we associated with the product / offer

  • UNATTACHED AFFILIATE MARKETING
This is the most basic yet advance kind of affiliate marketing. The campaigns you made have no presence and no authority in the niche of the product you’re promoting. There’s no connection between you and the end consumer, so what you do is make find an offer then make ads for the offer and put it in traffic sources (mostly paid one - later read traffic sources) such as Google Adwords, Facebook ads or pop ads, in hopes that people will reach your ads and click it, do specific action (download/install/signup/fill form/purchase/etc), and you’ll earn a commission.

This type of Affiliate Marketing is famous and have strong points. The reason is because you have no presence or authority, the scaling up process is much easier, plus you can work and earn faster! However of course this kind of affiliate marketing also has its weak points which is more budget. In order to do this kind of affiliate marketing, you will use mostly paid traffic sources (later read on traffic source) and it will cost you quite a fortune, besides that you may lose money if you just do careless actions.

I have been doing this type of affiliate marketing, it does work very nice, but it's quite complicated for total newbies.Personally, I prefer this business model, because when we talk about Affiliate Marketing, all of us will realize that the main purpose we get into this business is to make money online (wish easily). Right? And this model is just the best answer to it, but for people with less budget, it also become a problem.

Note that this isn't what you do in Wealthy Affiliate, so don't expect it to pop up in your training lessons.

For more information about where to learn this business model, just PM
  • RELATED AFFILIATE MARKETING
Now this is one thing that we learned here in Wealthy Affiliate, Related Affiliate Marketing, it is where you have some sort of presence online, whether it’s through a blog, a podcast, videos, or whatever – and you have affiliate links to products related to your niche, but they’re for products you don’t actually use.

The forms of this business model is usually banners in your websites such as Google Adsense or Amazon, well there are many other examples but I just need you to understand, so I think that two examples are enough.

At this part you will realize that eventhough you have those banners or offers in your website, you never actually use it or try it. The only connection you have with the offers is your niche in your websites. And that is why I call it as related AM.

But that’s ok. No need to worry

Placing affiliate links on your site that are related to your niche is a great strategy to earn an extra income. Whether it’s in the sidebar in banner form, or in a text link at the bottom of your blog post, because you have a website and some authority, people will trust you and your decision to place the ad on your site.Related affiliate marketing is great, but I have to tell you that you can't rely on it 100%, since this business model is the hardest one for scaling up or earn big revenues. It doesn't mean you can't earn big money with this model, it just not as simple as you think.
  • INVOLVED AFFILIATE MARKETING
Involved affiliate marketing is where you’ve used a product or service, truly believe in it, and personally recommend it to your audience. Not in a banner ad or somewhere that says “recommended resources”, but within your content, as part of your life and your strategy for whatever it is you’re talking about. The product almost becomes something people “have to have”, because it’s part of the process. It’s your involvement and experience with the product that makes that offer so attractive.

And the best example for this business model is Affiliate Bootcamp, where you as a member in Wealthy Affiliate who have experienced the whole incredible stuffs inside this community, go promoting WA within your website by giving review based on your REAL EXPERIENCES.

There is, however, a level of responsibility that you have to uphold while making these kinds of recommendations, especially if you have a lot of authority and influence over your followers. This is the complete opposite of UNRELATED AFFILIATE MARKETING, where you’re not even seen by the consumer in order for the action to take place. Instead, this is you talking directly to those who may need a product that you’re offering, who have their ears and eyes on you. This is not using your money in order to make money (paid traffic source), like with PPC (pay per click) or PPV (pay per view). It’s using your reputation, trust and authority in order to get others to take your recommendation, use it, and pay you something in return in the form of a commission.

Conclusions : WA will only teach you how to do 2nd and 3rd points and which is best for you still depends on what kind of person you are. Just PM me for more information

B. Source of Offers

In order to find products / offers, there are two options:

  • DIRECT AFFILIATE MARKETING
Some of you might already have an idea for this one, and yeah it just like how it sounds. Direct Affiliate Marketing is when you get to a certain website that have product or offer, register as a member, then use your affiliate link to promote it.

WealthyAffiliate and Jaaxy are examples for this model.

The pros : you get to know more about the product / offer, which mean you can persuade people better. And since direct affiliate marketing is usually offering an actual products or services, its average revenue is quite high.

The cons : it's hard to find a direct affiliate partner, some companies need to process things before you do the marketing and it will take time, there is no guarantee that you will get paid, there is a chance the company change its regulation and void your affiliates.
  • INDIRECT AFFILIATE MARKETING
Another way to get products / offers it going through a place called Affiliate Network. What is Affiliate Network? Basically it's a company that gives service to store up information about affiliate program, which mean every company that has affiliate program and want to promote it will apply to Affiliate Network. ClickBank is one of the example for Affiliate Network, however you have to know that there are many others Affiliate Networks such as F5 Media, Neverblue, AffiliaXe, etc.

Each Affiliate Networks has its own special offer, for example AffiliaXe is great with mobile offers while F5 Media has better dating offers.

Beside that, registration in Affiliate Network may differ from one another, because some networks are looking for quality over quantity and vice versa. A network that looking for quality marketing will have more procedures to get you applied as its affiliate marketer. (some even do interview by phone)
As for ClickBank, it is a network that look for quantity over quality, hence anyone can just apply and become member right away.

So what is the difference between those two Networks?
Well of course the quality of offers. If you have ever applied to top notched network, you will realize that their offer is really good, what I mean is that they have various type of offers that can easily generate money.

Let me give you an example to make it easier:

High Quality Affiliate Network - Offer
    Niche : Mobile Apps
    Offer : Du Booster
Status : Rating in Google Playstore 4.5 out of 5, Downloaded 10 millions time
Type : PPC (pay per conversion) - in this case installing the app
Geo : America, Canada, Australia, Indonesia, Singapore, Japan, Netherlands, etc etc etc etc etc
    Commissions : $0.99/conversion
Low Quality Affiliate Network - Offer
    Niche : Mobile Apps
    Offer : Shopee
Status : Rating in Google Playstore 2 out of 5, Downloaded 1000 time
Type : PPC (pay per conversion) - in this case installing the app
    Geo : Indonesia only
    Commissions : $0.50/conversion

Conclusion : I DON'T NEED TO EXPLAIN, YOU READ IT AND CONCLUDE IT. LOL

PART 2 is now ready!

Thank you for the great information about affiliate marketing :) looking forward to part 2. I am still deciding which affiliate network work the best for my niche (curious about that high quality versus low quality).

Btw, is thw smartphone app offer is from affiliaXe? I'm looking for an affiliate betwork specialize in smartphone app.

Hi everlight, yes AffiliaXe is one the best network that focus on mobile niches. If you want to apply at that network, you will need a bit of experience first. Well there is a way to get you in without any experience, just to get started. However you will need a connection (I know a place to get these connections online).

The application to AffiliaXe will include filling online forms or data, and then they will contact you using email (asking for real identity such as passport or ID and your screenshot on certain community or networks), after that they will do a short interview by phone.

If you want to start learning about it, just PM me
