I have completed Course 1 !
I know there are still so much for me to learn and many more courses to complete before I have a complete functioning website but before I started this course, I had no idea I would have my first website up with a completed About me and Privacy Policy page. Even that is so big to me, I'm actually proud of myself. Now I know what to do if I want to add pictures or add more posts. This was probably the biggest question I had on my mind when I joined this website and now I know the answers :D
I have a long way to go, and I know it's going to take some time to get a hang of things, to learn everything and to get used to uploading content on a regular basis, but I'm working on it and everyday as I see my website building, I feel more motivated to keep going :)

Im John, from Durban in South Africa. One thing I get a kick out of is connecting with people across the globe. I too have discovered how friendly people are in this community. Then again if they werent, they certainly wouldnt call this home!
I am also new, joined in October. Just like you I was pretty stoked with myself for having a website up and an about me and policy page. I have since been working at adding content and more pages. Its starting to look like a website lol!
I also decided to buy a .com domain name which certainly helps with ranking. If you havent yet done that and plan to, then I suggest consider it before putting too much effort into your theme as you may have to change it. I did.
