When you show that you genuinely care about someone, about their business, I mean just a little bit. The tiniest of little bits. It will put you head and shoulders above and so far ahead of everyone else out there. Why? Because everyone else just cares about themselves.

When you sit down and have a conversation with someone, and delve into what they want. What they are looking for. What their goals are. What are their problems that you can help with? Take the emphasis off of YOU and put it on them.
Now, you've not only developed a loyal friend, but you've also developed a loyal fan. Why? Because you haven't talked about what your business is, about your family, about your work, etc. You've focused on them.
If you can keep this mindset, and I mean to where your focus is always on the customer, client, subscriber, and you don't give in and start telling about yourself, you'll learn more about your target audience. This will help you provide more value which down the road will convert that friend/fan into a paying customer.
They Don't Care
As my mom used to say, "I don't mean this in a mean way", but, your customer doesn't give a crap about you. They don't want to know about your failures, or early struggles or your family. They are just looking for an opportunity to get rich. And they don't want to get rich in a year, or a month. They want to get rich now.
So give value and focus on your customer instead of yourself and your fan base will grow.
It's all about THEM, NOT you.
