This Old Dog Signed-up for DirecTv BUT I Didn't Want To
Yes, it's true. Ruthie and I signed up for DirecTv and had it installed the other day but I didn't want to. It all started a month or so ago when Ruthie said, "I don't ever get to see you anymore. You spend all of your time at Wealthy Affiliate answering emails and writing articles for your website. I get lonely ever night not having you around."
The fact is, I am always home but yes I do have things to do and yes my dear Ruthie is suffering as a result of it. I went online and found a company that for $250 would create a life-sized rubber replica of me that Ruthie could plop down on the couch next to her and talk to it all night long. Ruthie rejected the concept! Something had to change. So Ruthie instructed me to order DirecTv to help fill up her lonely nights with uninterrupted "chick flicks" and multiple QVC channels. All was well on the home front. Then the world fell apart.
Ruthie had me move a wall mirror in the house to a different location. How much could that hurt? Well, it did. The new placement of the mirror hampered the wireless signal to the very DirecTv receiver on the tv that Ruthie loves to watch the most. The result, no tv for Ruthie.
Now, I consider myself to be somewhat of a "techie" for an old guy but no amount of previous skill was going to help me out this time. To the telephone, I went to DirecTv for some real help. The call lasted for well over an hour but in the end, the tv receiver was reset and Ruthie's tv was restored. Then it dawned on me!
What a great idea for a WA super niche. Pull up directv.com with its endless and hours of instruction on how to make their system work in your home and use that information to write helpful pieces for your website (written in plain English) on how to make your reader's Directv work in their home. You could add endless affiliate marketing widgets to your website regarding everything needed to make an evening at home in front of the tube more enjoyable. Heck, you could probably get Directv to affiliate market with you so that if someone clicked on your Directv widget and your reader ordered Directv for their home you would get a commission. What an idea. Who says that all of the really great niches are taken. What a great community our WA is to all of us. DAN

Jude, look at it this way. Had Ruthie agreed to the idea of the rubber replica of me the niche idea of a website helping people with their Directv problems would have never been hatched. So, I guess I vote for the rubber doll. lol ;>) DAN
Yah I understand. When I look in the mirror (which is bad enough) with Ruthie scolding me about a change in our relationship, I am learning that no amount of money can be spared to rekindle a little warmth in the misses department. lol DAN

Heavens Sheila...if you already have Dish...create the niche with Dish. They are just as greedy as Directv so I am sure you would have no problems getting them to sign a Dish Widget deal with you. DAN

Hi Dan, I understand your plight. My wife and I are quite independent and both have creative things that occupy our time. We do, however,
have Direct TV and meet to share some of our favorite programs. ( that we agree on)
CJ convergent offers a pay per call affiliate program with Direct TV.
I have applied for it but haven't heard back.
