Don't Be Afraid Of Goals! They Give Us Direction!

Sometimes as humans, we are prone to dream about things we would like to do, but it seems to stop there. We even send an email, a text, or get into a conversation with friends about what we would like to accomplish, but it stops there. Then years go by and we are still talking about it or it fades away.

What happened? I can tell you what happened.

We are afraid to make it a vision and the vision was not written down. If the vision was written down, it would have become a part of us over time by seeping into our soul. When we receive the vision, we should write it down, put it up where we can see it daily, have goals and action steps, and then walk them out. The goals should be measurable with dates for accomplishment and so forth.

What happens is that we are holding ourselves accountable. Don't be afraid of goals because they give us direction. Success is a broad term and we all define it in different ways that we feel apply to ourselves. I say that you are successful if you are accomplishing what you you have spoken. Speak out your goals, write them down, and continue to speak new things into existence.

It's important to have a plan, apply what you are learning, and walk out that plan. If you do not put what you are saying to paper, it won't happen. When I used to be in the social work field, my old managers used to say, "Barney, if you did not write it down, it never happened". Don't fool yourself into believing that you do not need to write down your ideas or your goals.

If you don't, believe me, they will never happen. They will never become a part of you and they will never come alive and manifest into your life as an accomplishment. God Bless!!!

Great post . Something we all need do
Thanks,
Debby

Thanks for the great advice, I need to do this.

You are welcome! We all have to create ways for us to focus so we can make it all work for our good and help others do the same.

Set lofty goals...but also set realistic short term goals. Without hitting 1,000's of shorter term goals the lofty goals will never be achieved.

One thing that I see leading people to failure and confidence leak is being completely rigid on "dates" in which they achieve a goal. Not every goal will be achieved on the specific date you want and that is perfectly OK. If you want to make your first sale next month and it takes an extra month, that is OK. If you want to have your first $100/day after a year and it takes 15 months. That is OK. If you want to get ranked under a keyword by next week and it takes two weeks, don't worry.

Goals are the foundation of action. Keep working towards your goals and creating brand new goals. It will lead to growth!

Thanks Barney! Blessings, Sue

Thanks! I'm happy to contribute
