What was the last book you read recently? How much do youy read?

It is said that 88% of wealthy people read 30 minutes or more per day.

60+ books per year are read by the average CEO. /They earn an estimated 319 times the income of the average worker who read 1 book per year but finds time to watch 700 YouTube videos.

A study revealed that: "WEALTHY" PEOPLE MAKE GOOD USE OF READNG TIME

WARREN BUFFETT - 80% of his working day is reading

HOWARD SCHULTZ - Reads every morning 5 - 5:30

MARK ZUCKERBERG - 2 books/month

MARK CUBAN - 3 hours /day

OPRAH WINFREY - reads a lot every day

BENEFITS OF READING

  • Reduces stress by 68%
  • Increases Verbal Intelligence
  • Improves Empathy
  • Boosts Memory
  • Enhances Learning Capacity
  • Expands Vocabulary
  • Develops Strong Analytical Skills
  • Improves Concentration

One of the things I've learned in life is that if I want to be successful at something I should find out what the most successful people at that do, and do that.

If I want to be successful in business and earnings, I should look at people like Warren Buffett, Howard Schultz, Mark Zuckerberg, Mark Cuban and Oprah Winfrey. What thing(s) do they ALL do that are key to their success? What is/are the common denominator(s).

WHAT do "Wealthy" people read? Studies have shown that:

  • 63% listen to audio books during their commute
  • 79% read educational career-related material
  • 55% read for personal development
  • 58% read biographiues of successful people
  • 94% read current events
  • 51% read about history
  • Only 11% read purely for entertainment purposes

Some people might read this and think, "I'm not really motivated to become "wealthy". I just want to help as many people as I can.

To that I would ask, "Do you think you can help more people with $50,000 or $5,000,000?"

I have a friend who is very successful in business and life. He has had a goal for the last couple of years to read 100 books annually, and, he's done it. He's a serious bicyclist so many of those books he "reads" by audio books.

If you ask yourself,

  • "How many books have I read so far in 2020?"
  • "Do I believe that reading more will help me become more successful?"
  • "How many books do I want to read between now and the end of 2020?"

I'm hoping to contribute to YOUR success in some small way!

Wishing you great success in achieving worthy goals!

    Hi Glenn
I certainly couldn't manage 100 in a year, not working full-time, I do manage about two a month though. I recall reading about another study that looked for the common traits of very successful people in many different spheres - business, the professions, government, CEOs, and though they found that the people at the very tops of all these different areas were often highly individual and very different, one common trait was an exceptionally large vocabulary. It stands to reason. To rise to the top in many fields means you need to lead and direct large numbers of other people. The way you do that is through communication. To communicate effectively you need to command language.

    Think and grow rich.
    I read 100’s of books

I love audio books/seminars. I'll even play it while I am working or sleeping as the subconscious mind is listening. I do read if I can't get the audio or if I need to dig deeper into it.

It absolutely makes all the difference in the world. Schools barely provide us with the basics if that. There is so much to learn and as they say success leaves clues. The maps/blueprints are there for us to see/read/listen to.

They can also motivate/inspire us to do more. Unlock our creativity.

If I go to the doctor for some ailment I am not sure about, I will ask lots of question and then go to the internet and read everything I can and decide then how to proceed.

Knowledge is also only potential power unless we take action with the info we have gained.

    Thanks for sharing Glenn!

Careful, Mel for medical information from the internet, there is a lot of censorship of different views, so you will likely be spoon fed only certain things. Just don't rely totally on the internet!

    Jeff

I read 2 to 3 books per year! Not much. I am intrigued and should read more. Thanks for pointing this out.

I have read many books in my life, but I tend to stick to Sci fi . Maybe I need to read more books in the MMO field. Jim
