Will I make enough to cover my premium membership?
This is a question I have seen asked on numerous occasions. The answer is eventually yes, but the truth is you will make no money at all for some time.
Why?
Unlike most of the programs being sold out there by big name gurus and those who know nothing at all about what they are selling, Wealthy Affiliate is a legitimate business.
A Real Business Has Startup Costs
If you were to start any brick and mortar business you would have startup costs. You have to acquire a place for your store, you need inventory, and you need to advertise if you want to even start to make money.
So it goes without saying that any business even online has startup costs. Online businesses need to have a presence, they need to have something to sell, and you need to get people to the products. So it's basically the same however it costs much less.
To have a presence means you need to have a website. It needs to be hosted and that cost money. You need to have something to sell, well with affiliate marketing we have found a way to be able to sell other peoples products without a cost. You need to get people to your product, yes, advertising. Here at Wealthy Affiliate we are taught how to do this for almost no cost by getting highly ranked pages.
We are also given the ability to start this at no cost here at Wealthy Affiliate.
You Must Invest in Your Business
For any business to succeed you need to invest in that business. You investment will come in the form of time and money.
Being a premium member here at wealthy affiliate is one good investment. It gives you the ability to host many sites, do research, and get the best support in the industry. For the small monthly fee it is a bargain.
I personally host websites. My cost to do this is $250.00 a month. But you know what I still pay for the premium here at Wealthy affiliate. I also host all of my sites on the Wealthy Affiliate Platform.
Why would I do this?
I do this because of the features. The ability to post from a fantastic content creator directly to my site, The ability to manage all of my sites from a simple interface, to see the rankings on pages in a quick glance. There are so many features that I even forget some of them. Secure sites, and optimized for WordPress are two more reasons.
In Conclusion
So when people say to me I don't have enough to do premium I wonder how they ever think they will start a real online business. Many of those same people will go right out and pay another $50.00 for that get-rich-quick scheme and do it over and over.
I used to do that. Not no more!!!
Here we have an opportunity to build a real home business. It won't happen overnight it will take six months to a year. You must do something every day. You will only see the results if you do that.
Many of the top earners here are going to tell you that when they decided to post every day that is when their business exploded.
So squeak out the money for Premium. I make nothing for telling you this. I'm being honest. You need it!
Do something everyday on your website.
If you do this and it doesn't work come back here and tell me it didn't work. But you never will because it does work.

You're right. Anything of value, we underestimate it and want to look for something else that can potentially cost us more - like those get-rich-quick schemes.
I upgraded within 2 days of being a starter member because I saw the value in Wealthy Affiliate and I still do.
Previously I have invested in long distant training courses for personal development and didn't think twice about handing over my hard-earned cash.
Unlike those training courses I have undertaken - even though the knowledge I have gained by doing them is of great value and has enriched my understanding and knowledge in the subject areas - WA allows me to recoup my costs.
Those who are looking at the cost of a Premium membership and thinking it is too much should weigh this up with the cost of a degree course or any course in fact - as WA is akin to any of these - then look at the outcome.
With WA, you can make money.
With a degree course or any course, when you're done, you owe money.

Yes and having earned a Masters degree I can tell you that it usually doesn't pay you back for what you spend on it. If it does it's many many years down the line.
WA is really a degree in one aspect of Marketing (Online Marketing). Which is becoming the mainstream way to market for even the largest corporations.

I agree Glen. Unfortunately so many people have been taken in by 'Get rich quick schemes' in the past that when they come to WA they expect the same results. My home business cost me thousands to set up, I'm more then happy to spend hundreds to make my WA business work. Jim

I too was sucked in by one of the "get rich online here" schemes only to find out the hard way that there is no easy way! WA does exactly what it says - offers training and support for those who want to learn and grow, no matter how long it takes.

Not too long ago the FTC closed down one of the get rich schemes companies and there high dollar products cost upwards of $30,000.
I feel for those who were invested in that.
I signed up for it but for what they were offering the price was extorted so I never continued. I'm glad I did. WA is the only place I will be a member.

I agree. The biggest reason I chose to go with WA is because it’s not a get rich quick scheme. It’s a “teach a man to fish”. That’s what I needed. There were too many things out there that just didn’t cut it, asked for too much money and gave nothing in return. I almost didn’t go with WA because when it was first presented to me, I thought it was the former. But with some research I am so glad I joined. I’ve learned sooooo much! And I know I’ll continue to keep learning the things I need to to make it on my own.

Great post. I couldn't imagine being anywhere else than with WA. I looked at others and the more that I learn here, the more that I know I made the right choice.
The content editor is a great tool, just like Jaaxy, but the best part of WA for me is the community. Where else can I get questions answered so quickly 24/7? Where else can I read real and simple success stories that are not made up?
Just so many reasons to be here and the little they charge for all of this is really nothing compared to what I get. It's a very small investment in what one day will turn out to be a nice return. Unfortunately I still have to do some work to get there, but it will be a fun ride.

Take away all the other fantastic features and the price still isn't enough for what you gain out of the community.

Great post, thanks for sharing. That's the exact right mindset, you've got to invest in a new business. Not just money but also time. That's what it takes and WA is no different.
I just paid for my yearly subscription (so it's been just over a year since I joined) and I haven't earned enough to pay for my first years subscription so far. I'm fine with that, this is a long term build.

It will pay off. One key things I hear from many and I personally teach is do a post on your website every day. It's a numbers game.
The more posts you have the better you chance you have of a really successful one.
