It's An Old Phrase, There's More Than One Way To Skin A Cat.

I don't know why anyone would want to skin their house pet. Now lions, tigers, and other big cats, yes. They have been getting killed and skinned for hundreds of years. Not that I'm the kind of guy who would do such a thing.

I gave up hunting years ago. I found myself walking through the woods with my rifle, enjoying the great outdoors, and hoping that I wouldn't see anything to shoot. That's when I realized my hunting days were over.

That hasn't got anything to do with the subject of this post, by the way.

Do You Have Any Secondary Income Streams?

Don't say, "Yeah, I've got a job!" That's not what I mean. Read on.

I'm approaching the end of my second year here at Wealthy Affiliate, and so far I haven't made any money with my websites. My site that is the farthest along is promoting WA.

I'd like to make it to Vegas. The MMO niche is hyper competitive though.

So far, Google hasn't been impressed enough to rank me where my site is visible so I can compete with the big boys to get me the traffic I need.

I've had referrals, but not one has upgraded yet.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not discouraged, and I'm not giving up. My progress is just a little slow at the moment, but I am optimistic.

My second "niche" site was put on hold while I built up my WA site, so it's behind the power curve right now too.

At the beginning of the year, I decided to take my own advice and branch out while I'm waiting for my affiliate marketing businesses to become profitable.

I started selling on eBay.

My earnings on eBay this year, as of the end of February, are $323. That's not a lot, but it's $323 more than I've made with my 2 websites. I'm excited all over again that I have made some online money!

As I expand my affiliate marketing sites, which truly can earn passive income, I'm also expanding my direct sales, continuing with eBay then moving up to an online store.

I plan to have enough to pay my next year's membership in WA in May.

It feels good to make some money, even if it isn't with WA yet.

Let me know if you have income streams other than WA, and what they are. Thanks in advance.

I'm Grant

I see from your post that you have really never given up hunting, in a way that a really good thing to know, its just the quarry has changed and you have managed finally to get a return. May your small success lead to many greater things.

Good take on hunting. I hadn't thought of it that way. Thanks.

Good Morning Grant.

For me, the best part of your post is where you say you gave up hunting.
I have also been here now 2 years, have not earned money, only with Site Comments. If I continue with Site Comments I also will pay my yearly membership.
My 2 websites give me the possibility to talk about what I find interesting and or important so it is not focused on making money.
Good for you to have earned money with eBay.

Greetings from the south of Spain, Taetske

My hunting career was pretty short. I've only shot two big game animals in my life - one deer, and one elk. I went probably once before I joined the navy, and then all my years in the service precluded me from going hunting.

My first year after getting out (18 years in at the time) was the first time I hunted again, and when I got my two animals. I stopped the next year.

Thanks for your comment. I've been to Spain. Barcelona.

Great idea, Grant! There are many ways to make income for sure. Thank you for sharing your strategy.

My WA site has not been successful also. However, it is my fault to blame. I have not been contributing to it as much as I should. I got sidetracked with freelance JOBs. I want instant gratification $. However, that is also another way of making money. Doing freelance work with what you love. I love my freelance jobs.

Best wishes for you with Ebay!

Ha --

Nice to hear that you’re making money doing something you love. Are you talking about freelance writing jobs?

no -- I am an interpreter for Vietnamese. I do it over the phone and from home. I also take on interpreting at locations as well. I am also learning and taking a certification for court interpreting. I enjoy it because I feel I can make a difference for others by bridging the communication gap. It also challenges me and stimulate my brain. It is definitely a rewarding experience for me.

ps. don't forget to click like. This will help promote others as well as yourself.

That’s awesome! You have a skill that not many people have.

Thank you, Grant!

I tried and sold through dropshipping but two people said they did not want what they bought so pay pal gave them their money back and they did not return items. Shoplifting so after selling about 20 items I never made any money but lost a lot of work and time. I still owed Pay pal a few dollars.

Ouch! I hope that doesn’t happen to me! Sounds like your customers were less than honest. I guess there are pitfalls in any business. I hope you’re doing better now. One of the unfortunate characteristics of eBay is that people are always trying to buy for the lowest price they can get.
Grant

Thanks a lot for sharing!

Wish you great success!
