The Power Of Social Media, Is It Real?
I have been at this for 9 months now. Soon it will be a year. I'm heartened by the progress I've made so far, and I'm pleased (and thankful) that I have been accepted into Kyle's SWAG program. It's caused me to focus and commit more. I see a bright future ahead, somewhere.
After 9 months, here's what Analytics shows for my progress:
Am I happy with that? Yes, and no. If I'm only getting 4 or 5 visitors per day, I'm never going to see any referrals. Pretty pathetic. I need 100, 1000 times that number. I'm never going to see Las Vegas otherwise. Both outcomes are not acceptable.
On the other hand, the trend has been going in the right direction, up. The training works, of that I'm sure. I just want it to work a little faster. No, A LOT FASTER!
I'm Starting To Believe That Social Media Is Essential!
It's hard for me to say that. Facebook turns me off. I am indifferent about Twitter. I really like Pinterest, because I'm visual. I don't know enough about Google +, although I am a subscriber. Instagram and LInkedin? Huh?
The problem I have with facebook is that I know a lot of people who are on it, and I feel like i"m imposing on my friends when I post one of my blog posts to it. I know that's irrational behavior, but it's how I feel. I still do it anyway, but as far as getting on facebook and interacting, I still don't like it. Just being honest. And, I don't know the rules so I don't know if I'm breaking any.
It's my activity on Pinterest that is starting to break down my inhibitions with social media. I"m finding lots of great info about how to use it, and how to start campaigns to get more visitors, etc. I can see real potential there. I think that's where I can crack the walnut and get at the good stuff inside.
Make $1000/month within 3 months Blogging!
Can it be done? I already blew that one. I have one referral so far, doing SEO only; you know, creating content and building site authority. My one referral signed up because he saw the page, but didn't even start a profile. And because he knows me. He's still sitting there, rank over 800,000, the only referral on my list. I don't think he even knows he signed up.
I know that there are a lot of people who have reached the $1000 per within 3 months, but I don't see how that they can do it without hitting social media hard, and smart.
It's the "smart" part I need to figure out.
With Any Social Media, Followers Are The Key
On Pinterest, I'm following over 1000 so far and am being followed by over 50. I need at least 10 times that number. But the only way I know to get followers is to follow and wait for them to follow you back. On any social media platform, your followers are the people who see what you put on there, so the more the better.
My Goal Is To Become An SME On Social Media.
SME = Subject Matter Expert. The more I learn the more I realize I'm just a "babe in the woods" regarding social media. What I don't know could fill volumes.
I don't know how I'm going to do that and still keep up with SWAG training, but I'll make it work. Wish me luck.
Maybe next post I'll talk about video.....

Hi Grant,
Thank you for sharing your view on SM. I was hesitant at first with the use of it but now see the importance of it as it pertains to businesses. Still working to on it but making good progress.

You've nailed it with the media thing. I have been online for many years and one of the first things that really affected my experience with these entities was not positive. Not only that, but to put it on family and acquaintances, I often feel the exact same thing. Due diligence is required and It is not in my character to put something or post something that I am not 120 percent sure that it will be taken in context. Well, here's to pushing through this element, and remember you are not alone. Thanks Grant for your candor and great post.

No doubt, social media is the Key to any business nowadays. Just look at mobile, 70% of deals are done through mobile and just look around you, masses of people are on social with their mobiles. It says enough.
The key-point is to shine out in the media, as more and more businesses are joining, Twitter for example is full with mass advertisement.
To find the right helpful articles to help you on your journey, finding what people are looking for and what is trending will make you the expert as you will be able to target the right audience at the right time.
For this, you need to do your research, forums like Reddit, Quara and other platforms are essential to find out what people are looking for.
Thanks for social media people are able to connect with each other and to bring the parties together in doing great business.

I have not had a pinteret account or a twitter account until just a couple days ago. I haven't been big on social media either. But I can really understand the point mainly because that is where a lot of others are
How many blogs do you have going to social media. I am not interested in them at all but I have thousands of followers in every one of them.
I use social juke box to send my blogs out 24/7 every 9 minutes.
