One Sentence That Can Change Your Life!
This Phrase Can Change Your Life, IF You Can Do It!
It's a simple phrase, and it comes from Tom Hopkins, a world-class icon in real estate sales. His phrase is as follows:
"Always do what is most effective at the time."
Now, this doesn't sound like much - until you think about it. Then it becomes profound. Think about the choices we make every day, almost every minute of every day.
Load the dishwasher or water the garden. Write a blog post or watch TV. Fix dinner or study the Bible for a few minutes.
Everything we do is the result of a choice. Rarely do we only have one thing needing our attention.
Which choice we make in the moment determines our future, until the next choice.
What Makes this Phrase So Hard To Do?
Because the most effective choice is seldom the comfortable choice, or the easiest choice, available to us.
It takes discipline to ALWAYS do what is most effective for us, even during those times when we don't want to do it.
I believe this method of decision-making can be learned. It takes conscious effort, but if applied, we will be doing more things that are effectively moving us forward.
IF we can learn to do it, we will be better for it.
What do YOU think?
I'm Grant.

It's true Grant... and the knowing I need to work on just one website is the killer for me right now... my first of many "real hard-to-make" decisions on here at WA.
To be effective I have to decide. So I gave myself a deadline, and hopefully I'll make a choice that feels right.
If I can't achieve that, I've decided I'll toss a coin, because any decisions will be better than none.
Best wishes,
Jacquie
How many websites are you working on? I have two right now, but my bootcamp site is the one I am concentrating on.
Hi Grant,
I have more or less started working on 4 websites ... with a several others in the background I think would be good ideas. None of them have everything in place as per the training here.
I've decided I need to just work on one for a while to at least finish the training on this platform.
I think you're right. Focus on one and make it work before you try to start another one. You'll break in faster with the search engines if you are regularly posting on your main site.
Grant
Effective or efficient. I've always tried to accomplish things in an efficient manner, The less time it takes to complete a task, the more time I have for other things. When I find that the use of my time might be efficient, but not very effective, I analyze, make a correction, or more than one, and then continue on. Good to see you again Grant.
Greg
HI, Greg. Good to see you again too. I've slowed down quite a bit in my retired old age. I'm content to be plugging along, making progress. I waste more time than I should, though.
I don't think of it as wasted time. I prefer, time enjoying all that life has to offer. The older I get, the more I realize that time is never wasted.

Like the road less traveled needed some awake skills to determine along the way that you were still on the right path, or you might fall to your death and surely perish!
Or with most folk, not WA'ers, because we are eventually going to cover every bit of it, figure how to work it, why it isn't working, and how to improve it. PERIOD
Then knowing every aspect of it, I'd have to record every procedure down in order of implementation, so I can find it and use it again later.
(Look at Nathaniell and all the procedures people ask him about. Amazing Technician!!) And he recently had 10th anniversary here at WA. He recommended to work on your WA every day, so that you expected to work on your WA every day as a part of your life.
Also that in 10 years he has developed friendships he treasures here that continue in value, and his questions can only be helped by people who have been in WA a really long time.
So for Grant and Suzay, and many others, Nathaniell is our example of "Always do what is most effective at the time." Make all of the mistakes, learn from them and make beauty from ashes!
Short cuts usually aren't the best! Rise and keep rising.
Also Nathaniell is real, sweet, moral compass fully working, nice person, reaching out and giving a hand up.
Same with Jay, Kyle and Carson.
Success leaves a white hot path to follow!
Share the vision. Walk circumspectly ( most effective at the time), and I believe it's a spiritual walk into fulfilling your destiny, giving all you have to offer in value to others.
Thank you Grant!
Just Zaying,
Suzay
Great comment, Suzay! I had a freind when I was back in flight school that would write down every step of his upcoming flight to help him see it in his mind before actually flying. That isn't my style, but it worked for him.

I really liked your article and was inspired by it. Thank you , Grant! Did I say I grew up in Boulder, Colorado? And went Word over the World to the Big Island, Hawaii, Hawaii.
