Know What Your Business Is!

A lot of us, when we first start at Wealthy Affiliate, don't really know what's involved in starting an online business. We have a rough idea, of course, but that's about it. I'm so glad that Kyle and Carson were wise enough to understand that and organize the training in such a way the we can grow into our businesses and learn.

I'm in the SWAG program, and for my report at the end of the first month, I can say that I have checked off all the boxes except one - live chat.

I've logged on to it several times, but found that I didn't really have anything to add to the conversations going on. It's not in my comfort zone so I will have to work on it.

Another thing I've noticed, doing the tasks for this month, is about the task to help at least 5 people per day. What I've discovered is that when I open an email with a question, it's already been answered 99% of the time. Basically, about all the help I've been able to offer comes in the form of encouragement.

I guess that's important too.

Other than those things, I've stayed on track, at least for the first month. I'm very happy to be in the SWAG program. It's stretched my limits and forced me to act, to get things done.

So, What's Your Business?

Do you know what your business is? If you don't, it will evolve over time as you grow and learn. Take me for example. I have two websites. The first, and the one I'm concentrating on, is my Bootcamp site promoting Wealthy Affiliate. I look at myself as a kind of headhunter, or recruiter, for WA.

My second site is called Upgraded Living, and initially I started it as a health and wellness site for people over 50. I'm learning, though, that I much more enjoy writing about cycling and cycling products, so I think I'm going to be changing, or adapting, my focus on that site. I believe I can integrate cycling into health for the over 50 crowd.

That site is languishing in limbo mostly. I've only posted once during the 1st SWAG month on it, because, obviously, i'm doing SWAG!

Whatever your niche is, learn about it, become a SME (Subject Matter Expert) on it. If you can help people and answer their questions because you are an expert, your site will become successful.

Don't Give Up!

I know we beat that phrase to death around here, but we do it for a reason. Quitting is the way that we guarantee FAILURE.

Persistence guarantees SUCCESS. 'Nuff said.

Now I'm Getting Nervous!

I noticed my WA rank and it's at 207. Soon I'll have one of those little boxes after my name in emails, that says Top 200, and that's what's making me nervous. I've been happily anonymous for a long time, and don't know If I like having a little box after my name.
