Adopt a word for the new year
5 years ago I was going through monumental changes in my life. It was all 'change' and I had to learn to adapt to what was happening to me and all around me. I realise that in conversations with friends and people I meet when we get into conversations about self esteem, well being and positivity etc something always comes up in terms of the way I've approached things in the last 5 years.
I had thought that my niche could have been around well-being and self development as I believe my path and journey has a lot to add in this area. Maybe this will be for another website in the future.
I feel empowered to share in this blog this aspect with the WA community as I feel I'm on the right path in terms of developing my online business even after this short time and still working through the courses. There is that 'thing' we all do when the new year approaches and that is new year resolutions.
Yes I still partake in this activity with setting out goals like many others but there is one fundamental thing I do above all else and that is adopt a word for the year. What I mean by this is that I chose one word as I have done for the last 5 years as the overarching principle for the year. It drives me and also provides me with focus when I come up against challenges. It's just something I started to do 5 years ago in order for me to grow in certain ways. It does not mean it solves all problems and helps me achieve my goals but I see a gap in myself before the year-end and challenge myself to see how I will address this in the coming year. So for me the last few years looked like below. Each one has built upon the other and in time I may have to revisit previous ones but I don't know yet.
2010 - Wisdom
2011 - Trust
2012 - Momentum
2013 - Open
2014 - Change
It's just a thing I do and wanted to share it with the WA community.

Natalie Sisson from Suitcase Entrepreneur suggests the same thing. I love the idea! I'm gonna start thinking of my word. :)
Brilliant action.
