Going Nowhere Fast Ends Today!
Hi everyone!
I have been absent from WA for a solid 5 weeks now. 'Life' demanded a lot of my attention consequently putting my 'nice to haves' aka WA dreams to the absolute bottom of my list. I simply struggled to dedicate screen time during bedtime (which is my most realistic opportunity outside my day-to-day responsibilities).
So, as a result of this, I am reminded of 2 things.
1. Procrastination is real!
2. Sacrifice is real!
I procrastinated oft, and simply did not align my free time with my WA goals. I had plenty of opportunities to chip away at my dreams in and amongst 'life', however, I chose the here and now route instead (date night with hubby, date night with friends, watching my children's sports games, getting my hair done, working longer hours at my day job etc). I even went to Samoa for a week when distractions were at a minimum and did not lift a finger towards my WA dreams! #embarrasedtosayWhy? WA was placed in the 'low priority basket'. I had so many other things to think about, WA was simply not one of them.
However! Recently I had an experience at work that knee-jerked me (in a good way) back to my WA goals. My husband and children left for a week-long basketball tournament this morning (an annual event that we have supported our sons with for the last 3 years), however, I was not able to join them as I did not have sufficient leave available with my job. We've been in this predicament so many other times and each time I've thought, 'right, I am going to work for myself this year, I am done with missing out of my children's milestones.
This is exactly why I sought alternative income streams, in particular online income streams - to match my current income, but more importantly to free up my time! I lost sight of this these past 5 weeks, mostly because it was not presenting as an immediate need (which is a typical here and now mindset).
So, today is the day that I remember my WHY, acknowledge my procrastination and make non-negotiable sacrifices on a daily basis so that I can attend all events with my husband and children WITHOUT being restricted by an onsite 9-5pm for somebody else.
Because.....If I keep doing what I've always done, I will most certainly keep getting what I've always got #hello
I trust this speed bump is all part and parcel, so, lets say 'going nowhere fast ends today' in a loud voice with conviction....GOING NOWHERE FAST ENDS TODAY!!

Good resolve. I know I fell off last summer but got back at it. I don't have the time i would like but i do what i can and know in my heart this is going to happen.

so true, time is the difficult part. Now that I've come to find that, I have revisited my routine to chip away in bits.

Make it happen!
That's a big part of the reason I want to start my own business. I wanted to go on vacation a few months back and my boss told me that I have to fill in a request and wait for approval... "I don't go when I say, they tell me when I can go. "
That's when I realized that I am stuck following someone else's orders until I can make it out of the 9-5 world. The amount of money that someone else is paying me for my time is definitely not worth the sacrifices that I have to make for them.
If you believe it, you can achieve it. Go and follow your dreams !
Well put! That is the only thing I struggle with in a 9-5pm for someone else - being time poor.
