Balance balance balance
I am struggling to balance the demands of my job- which is more than full-time, very demanding and stressful, and invest just as much of myself in MY business. I'm tired of investing all of my time, energy, and heart into making someone else money. while my own business falls by the wayside, and hasn't made me any money because I've been too busy making someone ELSE money!
how do you balance the two? How do you stay the course until you start seeing results?
Any and all suggestions welcome. :)

Balance...A tough but so important concept. I've struggled with this my entire life. I find that a brisk 3 mile walk by myself between my regular job and other responsibilities (Family, WA, etc) clears my head, is good for body and soul, and helps me prioritize my next moves.
I found that once the site is up, I see yours is, you can add content pretty easily. Making new posts is tough, but I am sticking with a schedule of once a week.
Good luck, you can overcome, I just did a GMAT and am taking some more online courses. Still on course 2 of the get started here though, but I'll progress and so can you.
thanks for the encouragement! I seem to deplete myself at my full-time job, so by the time I come home, I can barely think straight! I want to devote more time and energy to this.
It's tough! It's so worth it, but it's tough. I'm struggling to overcome some of the technical, get-up-and-running stuff, and am feeling daunted by the thought of advertising the site, and how to turn that into money, etc. That all feels very far off and scary and unattainable!
Hi Grace, I'm new to this aswell ,and I have lots of other things to deal with, so i just treat my online stuff as a Hobbie !!, and if anything comes of it GREAT !! My advice would be just take your time, and things will all fall into place for you I'm sure.

hi
Ohhh that's a hard one! I also work over 45 hours a week and my work does not stop when I get home. At the beginning I was not working as much so I could post every day. That died down within a few weeks...And that's okay! I now focus on writing one good article a week. I do it on the weekends. I dedicate about an hour and a half to my site and its associated social media a day. I get up earlier so I can do about 45 minutes in the morning. It's been over a year and I think I have a better balance now. I do not have a family though. If I had kids, it would probably take even more organization and planning.

I don't have kids, either, Emily. So you would think it would be easier! I'm a project manager by day, so my job doesn't stop at all when I get home either. That's a great suggestion.
Did you find that when you were first getting your sites up and running, it was a bit overwhelming technically? How did you move through that? Is the most work at the beginning when you are getting them up? Sorry for all the questions. :) Thank you!
I am with you! I supervise 3 programs, including 2 that run 24/7 and I am on call a week out of 3...It never stops! But yes the majority of the work is done in the first few weeks. Then it settles down. I was not working as much then. So I did all the lessons in like 2 weeks. Posted maybe 10 articles to get it going. It was a push that needed to be done. Then it calms down. I was also freaking out and probably wrote a post similar to yours, lol! But it did get better and more manageable.
That sounds crazy! ok, that gives me hope. Thanks so much for your help! Did you do WA bootcamp? or did you do the green lessons? "Get started here?"
Wow and you were able to figure out how to generate income off of that? You go! Lol. I could barely just make it through those lessons. So much to learn!!

Balance is definitely tough but if you commit at least a full hour a day to your business if that is all you have and when I say a full hour that means no distractions. This one activity compounded over time will yield you results. It will not be easy but consistency is the key to getting out of your job.
Awesome, realistic advice. I love it. Thanks!
If I just turn off the TV for one hour a day and focus, that is enough to make small, yet concrete strides!!
