Time Conscious Eating

Time conscious eating sounds fairly straight forward.

“I am conscious of the time I eat my food, I wake up in the morning and have breakfast, around midday I have lunch and in the evening I have dinner.” “Simple.”

Except it’s not that simple. Time Conscious Eating, Chronobiotic Nutrition or Solar Nutrition as some people like to call it is…

“A Sun-calibrated lifestyle [that] synchronizes you with Nature’s solar cycles by knowing “when” to eat “what.” – Atom Bergstrom

I’d like to simplify it for you.

The premise is to optimize cellular nourishment by eating your foods at the right time of day.

The science goes like this.

We get our nutrition from second-hand sunlight.

The plant world get their nutrition through first-hand sunlight and use the process of photosynthesis.

Photosynthesis means…

‘a process used by plants and other organisms to convert light energy, normally from the Sun, into chemical energy that can be later released to fuel the organisms’ activities.‘ – Wikipedia.

The plant life has evolved into three different geometries to process solar energy.

(1) trees

(2) bush/vine/plant

(3) root

The first (sacred) geometry is the TREE.

The strategy of the tree is to harvest the 45 degree angle of the morning Sun.

In order to do this trees have evolved to be the most “heliotropic” of the plant kingdom – this means they oppose gravity by growing upwards so they can harvest the morning sunlight most efficiently.

Morning “tree” foods are known as Zone One foods.

Morning foods as a general rule include all trees above four feet (1.2metres) tall.

The best time to eat these foods is between 6.00 a.m. (or sunrise) and 12.00 p.m. (noon).

The second (sacred) geometry is the VINE.

The strategy of the vine is to harvest the 90 degree angle of the afternoon Sun.

When cooling breezes are now blowing through the trees and the ground is starting to warm up, it’s now time for vegetation closer to the ground to get to work processing the sun’s energy.

Now vines, bushes, shrubs, plants and grasses (including grains and vegetables) are at their most active.

Midday and afternoon foods are Zone Two foods.

All foods growing on bushes, vines or generally above the ground (above 4 inches/10 cm) and animals walking on four or two legs upon the ground (beef, poultry, foul, etc.) are best when eaten between 11.30 a.m. and 7.00 p.m.

Midday and afternoon foods usually grow between four inches and four foot above the ground.

The third (sacred) geometry is the ROOT.

Now the “eating” phase of photosynthesis is finished (after the sun sets) and the “digestive” phase of photosynthesis commences.

Roots now “store” the infra-red heat radiation left behind by the sunlight.

Roots are “geotropic” – they align with gravity by growing downward and away from the sunlight.

A synonym of geotropic is “apheliotropic” – which means to turn away from or grow away from the Sun.

Evening foods are Zone Three foods.

All foods growing underground or living or swimming in the sea are best when eaten between 7.00 p.m. and 1.00 a.m.

Zone Three evening foods include a wide selection of plant stalks, stems, shoots, bulbs, petioles (stalk attaching leaf to stem), rhizomes, roots and tubers.

Eggs, seaweeds, algae, fungus, peanuts, asparagus and insects are also evening foods.

As a general rule evening foods are usually found no higher than four inches above the ground.

The bromeliad family (pineapples) and some members of the cactus family are exceptions to this “below four inch” rule.

Time Neutral foods include apples, brown rice, herbal teas, honey, ghee (clarified butter).

These foods can be eaten at any time during the day.

It doesn’t matter what blood type, body type, metabolic type, glandular type or genotype you are.

Solar Nutrition transcends these “types”, meaning it’s a one size-fits-all nutrition plan (note: I didn’t say “DIEt”).

Don’t worry about being type A, B, AB or O.

Or a Vata, Pitta or Kapha.

Or an ectomorph, mesomorph, or endomorph.

Forget about being a sympathetic or parasympathetic type.

Or an anabolic or a catabolic type.

Or a fast oxidizer or a slow oxidizer.

It doesn’t matter if you’re acid or alkaline.

Or if you’re Yin or Yang.

It doesn’t matter about your race, colour or creed.

This nutrition plan allows you to be a vegetarian in the morning, a meat eater in the afternoon and a fish eater at night.

Thus allowing your body to be more acidic in the morning.

More neutral during the day.

And more alkaline at night.

Therefore helping your body to achieve an overall state of homeostasis (homeostasis is the regulation of temperature and the balance between acidity and alkalinity (pH). It is a process that maintains the stability of the human body’s internal environment in response to changes in external conditions.- Wiki.)

In other words your body is more balanced by neither being over-acidic or over-alkaline, in essence quashing the whole acid/alkaline debacle.

Just give it a try and see how your body feels.

Trust me, your body will thank you for it.

And you will notice the difference by becoming more regular (if you catch my drift).

Experiment with this for a couple of weeks to really feel the benefits.

You can try it for a few days and you may still feel the difference, I know I did when I first tried it.

So have fun and leave me a comment if you feel the benefits or if this article just plain resonates with you.

Have the best nutrition plan ever.

Your friend Gav.
