Hi Gail,

long time...HOW are YOU?
How are your websites doing?

Are you interested in a new venture?
Let me know and I'll drop you a private message, since it has really nothing to do with WA in one way, but still has to do with the world wide web!

Now how can a girl refuse an offer like that? I'm intrigued. You will have to tell me more now.
Sites are going well - made my WA investment back so far and just waiting for the traffic to pick up now so just keep writing, writing and writing.
Love it though so it's fine. How're you?

Hi, Gail.
I visited your profile via Isabella.

I was chatting with Isabella about Khan Academy, as an excellent free online learning platform, especially for maths. It is well worth a visit. If it's good enough for Bill Gates to use to teach his children maths, then it's good enough for me!

You can add clickable links to your Profile page at the bottom of the right-hand pane. As you have found out, hyperlinks do not become clickable within your Bio.

[Edit]I could have sworn your 'Follow On' was not showing. Must be my tired eyes.

Be Happy!

Hi Gail:

Haven't been online last couple of days have been busy doing other things.

Went to go to website and this message came up:

You have reached a domain that was pending verification per ICANN rules but has since been verified. It may take 24 to 48 hours for the website to come back online.

What does that mean?
Reply
GailLowe Premium
Hi Roberta
This is usually to do with your contact details which are needed for WHOIS so that people can see who owns your website.
You will probably have received an email from ICANN to verify your email address, so check your emails to see.

If this does not solve the problem and you bought the domain from WA, I suggest contacting Site Support.

Hope this helps. Let me know how you get on.

All the best

Hi Gail thanks for that. The problem as I see it is the email is connected to the website and I cannot get on the website as it is shutdown.

OK, then definitely ask Site Support - they are usually very quick to answer.
You can get to them through the Help Center - last button on the left hand column.
Let me know how you get on.

Hi Gail,

You are a real inspiration to me and I hope to meet up with you one day...I'm also here in the UK.

Spirituality and dancing are also my interests - though I do most of my dancing at writing breaks. At least 10 minutes.. every 2 hours.

We simply have to encourage one another as we are on the road to greater things - inspiring and uplifting people is the best way to achieve success.

Gail, I will look at your blog and read it during my spare time..

Have a wonderful day!

Peace,

Hi Gail!

Just thought I'd come and visit your Profile Page!

I knew we were kindred spirits!

I practiced as a Family physician as a calling for 30 years but if you had asked me at age 5 what I was going to do when I grew up (and I still haven't) I would have said to you with great gravitas:

"I am going to become an actress"!

Little did I know that I already was an actress!

Each of us in an actor or actress of a blessed life of the greater power!

Much success to you here at WA!

-giving cancer news to anyone, particularly infants and children cancer diagnoses

-stillborns

-deaths

-trauma

And so many more!

I'm a tough cookie as Dr Atkins...at home as "little 'ol me" I'm a marshmallow!!!

Hi Gail, love your story and rich background you have had up to this point. I will be following you now. You have found a pathway with WA to continue your grow of creativity and spirituality to new heights and dimensions. I share your passions in the performing arts and spiritual growth as well. My middle daughter has taken the family mantle and went on further then I did into the performing arts and writing.

Some of my family mentors (you can Google their bios) were in the theater and film industry. My family roots are from the UK in the surrounding area of Sheffield. My grandmother was a Loughton (where I get my middle name). My great uncle was Eddie Laughton, he was a British American actor who appeared in over 200 films between 1935 and 1952. He change the spelling of his last name for professional reasons. His sister Phyllis Loughton/Seaton became the first women stage manager of Broadway in New York then later worked for Paramount studios in California as a voice coach. She married George Seaton a play and screenwriter, director, producer and Academy Award winner. My uncle Eric Freiwald was a television writer. All ghost of the past. Best of continuing success.

Hi Judson. Thanks for your message. You definitely have a theatrical heritage and I've heard of some of your family too. I think once it's in the blood, it's difficult to get out!
My family all have performing arts blood too although I have been the only one to make it my profession.
I wish you all the best here - keep in touch and let me know how you get on with your sites too.

Thanks a lot for your comment in my post. I left a reply for you in my website.

You have a wonderful career as a teacher in film and performing arts. Do you teach in high school or with the younger kids? I have a 12 year old son who is in grade 7 and he is loving his Drama class.

More success for you in WA.

Hi Gail,
I have decided on a niche, baby monitors and baby strollers, I now have to get my website up and running, where and how am I going to do that, who is going to guide me through that, I also want to do the Wealthy Affiliate recruiter, I have 2 websites, can I have another niche for the 2nd website or how does this works, i would like to get my website up and running before my 7 days are up, and where do I find my affiliate link? do I have more than one?
Please advise as soon as you can.
Thank you kindly for your assistance.

GailLowe Premium
Hi Julia. That sounds like a good niche and you can have 2 sites under siterubix and the starter membership so one for your baby related things, and one to promote WA.
You can easily change these into your own domain names later if you go premium and host them at wealthy affiliate. This is what I did with one of my sites.

I would recommend that you have a look around at some other sites as well to get an idea of what you can add to your site before you settle on a name. Have a look at my post below: The reason I say this is that you can have a site that has a broad appeal (such as "New mum on the net" or something like that, but then you can narrow down your posts to make them very specific. That way you can target specific keywords in each post, and you will leave room on your site for you to write about many different things.

Below are the websites of 2 of my friends here at WA who have started blogs in your niche or similar niches, which are doing well, so I would have a look at their sites to get some ideas and see what's possible.
See happyhumanpacifier.com and inspiringmompreneurs.com
and
onemumandalittlelady.com
bestwaterfiltersforthehome.com

Hopefully you are continuing with the training and when you get to level 1, lesson 4, you will find all the information about how to create your sites online here.

You can also find information in the bootcamp training too.

I hope this helps. I really advise to have a look at the sites in your niche first - it will be a great source of inspiration.

I know you said that you were unemployed which may mean you can't accept the premium offer just yet, but if there is anyway you can go for the special price of $19 you will have access to ALL the training, videos, webinars for a whole month, which would give you a fantastic start with your sites. If you needed to go back to the starter package after that, it is my understanding that you can still work on your sites (as long as they are still siterubix ones) and then rejoin premium again when you can. But you would have got the best deal and a whole month of access to all the training which would answer lots of your questions too. No pressure but just a thought.

All the best and speak soon

Gail

Gail i see you do pertorming arts. Gail this is something you can read when have time . Maggie Nicols was born in Edinburgh as Margaret Nicholson. Her father was from the Isle of Lewis, and her mother is half-French, half-Berber from North Africa. At the age of fifteen she left school and started to work as a dancer at the Windmill Theatre. Her first singing engagement was in a strip club in Manchester at the age of sixteen. At about that time she became obsessed with jazz, and sang with bebop pianist Dennis Rose. From then on she sang in pubs, clubs, hotels, and in dance bands with some of the finest jazz musicians around. In the midst of all this she worked abroad for a year as a dancer (including a six-month stint at the Moulin Rouge in Paris).[citation needed]

In 1968, she went to London and joined (as Maggie Nichols) an early improvisational group, the Spontaneous Music Ensemble, with John Stevens, Trevor Watts, and Johnny Dyani, and the group performed that year at Berlin's then new avant-garde festival, Total Music Meeting. In the early 1970s she began running voice workshops at the Oval House Theatre (one of the most important centres for pioneer fringe theatre groups). She both acted in some of the productions and rehearsed regularly with a local rock band. Shortly afterwards she became part of Keith Tippett's fifty-piece British jazz/progressive rock big band Centipede, which included Julie Tippetts, Phil Minton, Robert Wyatt, Dudu Pukwana, and Alan Skidmore. Tippetts, Minton, and Nicols also joined Brian Eley to form the vocal group Voice. Around the same time Nicols began collaborating with the Scottish percussionist Ken Hyder (who had recently moved to London) and his band Talisker.[citation needed]

Maggie Nicols recorded an album with the vocalist Julie Tippetts called Sweet and S'Ours which was an FMP]] import. [1]

By the late 1970s, Nicols had become an active feminist, and co-founded the Feminist Improvising Group, which performed across Europe, with Lindsay Cooper. She also organised Contradictions, a women's workshop performance group that began in 1980 and dealt with improvisation and other modes of performance in a variety of media including music and dance. Over the years, Nicols has collaborated with other women's groups, such as the Changing Women Theatre Group, and even wrote music for a prime-time television series, Women in Sport.

Hi Alex. Thanks for the kind words about my site. If you want me to have a look at your website, just leave me the link and I'd be happy to offer some feedback.
I think a few people on here tend to right more lengthy articles but that is fine I think. The word count recommended for articles seems to be increasing rather than decreasing so I wouldn't worry too much if you have things to say. Some people recommend splitting things into 2 posts if it is easy to split. You can always create a link at the bottom of one which directs users to the next article if needed.
I like to write so it comes quite easily to me so I'm never struggling for things to say but I think it depends entirely on the content - I couldn't write 2000 words about a kettle! :)
Have a great day.

I do have a site related to spirituality and law of attraction and some NLP things as well and I've been following Esther Hicks and Abraham for many years. I love the way they communicate and their no nonsense approach.

My site is www.createyourownlife.com. I've been working on if for about 3 months now but it's my absolute passion and I've love to run more workshops and write books on the subject. You'll see I quite like to try to explain it a bit rather than just requote others as I'm a teacher by trade so find myself trying to explain it! :)
There's a post of there which also lists many of my other inspirations (although it's full of affilate stuff) but there are other people and books on there that I really love.

Really glad to connect here - you see - the law of attraction works! :) Have a great day. Gail

I am in the process of building my first website now called Functional Strength. Interesting you should say that! I am looking at ambassador pages right now. Unfortunately, I need to get going to meet my first personal training clients at 7:30 eastern time. I want to take my time on the about me section to really define the direction of Functional Strength. When going thru this initial process did you find the upgrade to premium right away was an advantage? My thought process was to get the initial work done using the free membership.
Reply
GailLowe Premium
I upgraded to premium from the start - only because I wanted to give myself the best opportunity and I quickly realised that I wanted my own domain name. I did start a couple of siterubix sites but once I upgraded to premium, I bought a domain name and realised that that was my real passion. I still have the siterubix sites but have really not looked back going premium. It also allowed me to skip forward a bit and work out how to make the best of my sites as well. However, each to their own I'd say. You can change things to your own domain later so that's no problem. Also to bear in mind that there is a great Black Friday deal on the way so if you were really serious about what you want to do, the BF deal is a great one. I'm going to go yearly this weekend as it will mean less than a $1 a day for the next year.
However, there's no pressure here and many people start off really well with the free package - it really is up to you.
Hope that helps. )

Hi Stacy
As far as I can see there is a deal on upgrading to yearly membership that they offer over the black Friday weekend every year. I'm not sure where in the world you are or how big Black Friday is there but it's pretty big in the US and in the UK now.
But basically you can pay $299 and get a whole year of WA premium membership which would cost you $359 normally or $49 per month ($588 over a year) so it's quite a good deal compared to paying monthly, nearly 50% off.

Have a look at: x I joined too late to promote it really on my sites although I have used some of the banners as you never know who is reading your sites although I know a lot of the more seasoned members promote it heavily every year.
Hope that helps and that you are having a good day. Gail

Thank you Maurice for your kind words. You are of course correct in that I have my ebb and flow like everyone and everything else. But I am learning each day to see this as the natural state of things, like the seasons or the high and low tides - each side is necessary for the other. And i try not to beat up on myself if I'm not 100% positive all the time because I know that it it only my higher self guiding me back to my path.
I do get angry, yes, but I try never to let my anger control me, but rather see it as me working out what I don't want in my life, which points me in the direction of what I do want - and that can only be positive.
One of my life's purposes is to be helpful to others and to help them see themselves for the amazing and wonderful beings that you and I know we are. So I try to live by example as much as possible. Obviously there are down times, but it's just a matter of perspective - bare trees are just as beautiful as the ones with the leave on! They just have a different beauty that is appropriate for where they are at that time. :)
I hope you have a wonderful day Maurice - great posts you've written recently and I really appreciate your help and friendship here. And the sun is shining today here in the UK so I'm feeling really good! :)

Hi Gail
We can prevent running around in circles by using the Private Messaging PM system :-)

I've done a few Professional Background Artist films, adverts and voice overs.

Musically, I play the guitar, flute and drums. I also create my own bamboo flutes and bamboo panflutes.

Maybe we have something worthwhile to chat about :-)

PS. I am not sure if you intended for the menu to move while scrolling to read, but it gets in the way of the content, and makes reading difficult. Please note that this is not a part of my comment about the article. I am just pointing this out to you in case you probably aren't aware of it. It is not intended to be offensive. Hey Gail,

Thanks for the follow, and the kind words on my post. I can really resonate with your outlook. I think the arts are so important to our inner well being. They reach in and touch the soul, in different ways. But the healing they do is incomparable.

Again, thanks for the follow. Following you back, and am looking forward to seeing where this amazing journey takes you and us all.

All the best,

Hi again Gail it’s a good idea (only if you want to) to click the 'Like' icon within a comment if you like it as I have done with yours.
Obviously you don't have to click every single comment or you will be here all day doing nothing but.
But to click the ones you like that are replies to your own comments will be reflected in your WA ranking because it shows you are getting involved with the community.

Hi Gail. You are very talented and I love that you have experience in the arts. I love music and theater. I used to play the clarinet and did rather well during my younger years. Someday, I hope to play the instrument again. I look forward to seeing your posts. I know you will be awesome here at WA.

Aww. Thank you for your lovely words. I used to play the violin in an orchestra and funnily enough, I only got it out from under the bed today to see if I can still remember how to play it. Seems a lot smaller than it used to.......
Have fun.

You do film studies! I wrote two movie scripts last year with the help of my grandkids. I am looking for a movie maker to make them into movies. We were talking about Shark-nado and what if it was not sharks. We came up with Tomato-nado!

Can you help me find a movie maker?
Reply
GailLowe Premium
Hi there and thanks for reading and following me.
I love Sharknado and hate it at the same time - but guess that's why it's such a cult!

To answer your question, there are many ways to get a film made depending upon the time and money you have! And there is no right way to get a film made as nowadays there are many roots into the business and each one is as valid as the last.
In the UK (where I am from) there are usually producers looking for scripts and vice versa so it would be good to check around your local film clubs or film societies first to see if you can get someone interested, You are more likely to get interest here than from a major film production company if you are an unknown writer however that is not unknown but you would definately need a properly formatted script rather than just an idea.
Other ways to get noticed would be to enter the script into film competitions or to visit film festivals as see who is looking for a script and to network.
The BAFTA website http://guru.bafta.org/ has a lot of good information on how to get films made especially short films so it might be worth looking at that site first, or the equivalent national film or arts promotion group where you live. You'll see that everyone really has a different approach and way in so it would be a case or persevering to find the right one for you.
You can also search for film script agents and pitch your script to them directly or even approach film schools and universities (although they will tend to encourage their students to write their own scripts).
TV and internet film companies may also be looking but again you'd need the script first and you'd have to send it off speculatively.

Have you heard of "Attack of the killer tomatoes" which is a 1978 B movie with a similar idea.

I hope this helps a bit - may have to write it up as a proper blog and put it on my site! :) Have a good day and if I hear of anyone

Welcome to WA - lots to learn here- stay focused - go through the Certification Courses first - you will get confused or frustrated from time to time - ask lots of questions - people are here to help you.

HERE ARE 3 WA'ers Training Posts - they helped me - one is vocabulary you use here - one is a detailed use of your dashboard to find anything you will need - one is a plug-in to add to WordPress - that will help you build your sties. Hope they help - they did me This one I wrote - deals with how to "close" for the result you want. Stay with it - you don't need a wish of good luck - you need a plea to study the material and stay at it no matter what - it will change your life and hopefully the people you touch with your message.

Since the hurricane particularly, I’ve been involved in volunteer work to bring relief to the needy. However, I intend to pursue the goal of teaching individuals and to bring them the good news, a message of hope that could be found in the pages of the greatest book of all time. WE have a common interest, “the people” and spirituality. I want to go "premium" but what is the foundation of the business, I appreciate your help in this regard.

Hi Barbara. Thanks for your reply. The basis of my business will be setting up a website or probably two: one where I will write a blog about all things performing arts, with reviews, and information for visitors. I'll then source some useful products that can advertise on the page via a banner and then when people click through from my page and buy a product, I get a commission. The thing I'll have to do is to drive traffic to my site by putting up some interesting and useful content. I'm quite used to writing things so I'm really looking forward to that bit.
I think you have 7 days to upgrade to premium so if you are a bit nervous, why not spend a few days looking around and doing the training and ask other people what their experience is. Hope it all goes well and hope to check in with you soon.
