Hello lovely people,

I hope you are having a lovely weekend so far.

Sorry that I've been away for a little while, but sometimes real life gets in the way. I was completing the sale of my late mum's old house, and my daughters have both been in A&E for a short time. But don't worry, all is well and we are getting on with life! Sometimes these things happen, and we can only do what we can do. Best not to beat ourselves up about things we haven't been able to do, but to focus on the things we have been able to do in those challenging times.

I'm back now and will resume my Business Mindset Matters posts soon.

Pinterest Progress

In the meantime, I thought I’d share a little update on how things have been going with my Pinterest account for The Creative Choice, especially as I know a few of you are working on Pinterest too.

I started the account in the middle of August 2025. Over the last three months, my account has slowly started to take shape, and I’m really pleased with how things are moving. Nothing has happened overnight, nothing dramatic, but I can see some steady, gentle growth… which seems to be the theme of my life at the moment!

I’ve added a couple of screenshots below. You’ll see that impressions have been gradually rising, and a few pins in particular have taken off more than others. The top ones are all spiritual or reflective posts, which are all related to my niche. One pin has just passed 1,000 impressions, and several others are sitting nicely in the 200–800 range.

What I’ve been doing (my simple strategy)

I started by trying to build the Pinterest account properly with a bit of thought, rather than just pinning randomly and have been following advice from Eric, Jay and Vitalie through several of their posts on WA. I can't say I've done wonders, and I still have a lot to learn, but I'm having a go!

1. My Pinterest page is branded with my website colours and image.

I created a header and images in Canva based on my website colours and logos.

2. I created boards that match my website categories.

This means everything stays organised and relevant. For The Creative Choice, that includes things like:

  • Mindset, NLP and Personal Development
  • The BIG Questions
  • Law of Attraction and Manifestation
  • Meditation and Yoga
  • Creative Conscious Living
    and so on.

I have 12 categories in all that match my website categories, although I have also just created another board following a Pinterest suggestion which automatically pinned several related posts into a "Daily Gratitude" category.

I'm assured that Pinterest seems to like it when your boards clearly reflect your niche, and it helps me to with ideas to add to boards as well.

3. I linked my Instagram account.

I've had a Facebook and Instagram account running for this site since February so I had a fair few posts on there already. It's quite easy to link the accounts, although I did have to ask Sparky (my ChatGPT) to help with a few things and to solve a few problems when claiming my website. The great thing about that is I didn't have to search through loads of videos, I could explain the problem, upload a few screenshots and work out the issues with Sparky. It was quite straightforward, but I was glad of the additional help, especially when it came to adding code.

Once done, Pinterest automatically imported all my social posts, and now any new Instagram posts can be shared directly to Pinterest, which keeps the account active without extra work on my part. It also stops my Pinterest page from looking empty, which was my worry at the beginning.

4. I make fresh pins for the website using Canva and now Image Studio

One thing I've learned is that pins don't have to be complicated. Some are simple quote graphics, some link to blog posts, and occasionally I make a quick video-style pin. I’ve been trying to keep them visually recognisable and engaging without being repetitive.

5. I post consistently, but gently.

I’m not hammering Pinterest with 20 pins a day. Maybe I should if I want more traffic, but I've been usually doing a handful a week, just enough to keep things moving. Pinterest apparently rewards consistency far more than volume, and that’s been much easier to maintain for me.

What’s working so far

Looking at the analytics, the posts that explore big spiritual questions or gentle reminders seem to do best. Things like:

  • “What if death isn’t the end?”
  • “What if the universe is neutral?”
  • Guided meditations
  • Self-reflective questions

Apparently, people on Pinterest love a moment of deep thought! Don't we all?!

Engagement is still modest, but it is rising. Saves are increasing too, which is a good sign that people are starting to follow the account’s visual style.

What’s a bit disappointing

I'm disappointed that I still only have 1 follower, which I'm not sure why, and I have not fathomed out the reason as yet. But I'm not going to let that get me down, and I will continue to post and analyse more pins when I have more time and more knowledge. I'm still learning too! The good thing is that I do have 1 follower, even though it's probably my cat!! LOL

I have not boosted any pins yet. I'm intending to try to boost a few of my Facebook posts in the next month, so I'm going to focus on those. And of course, I'll let you know how I get on.

Going forward

For me, Pinterest is definitely a slow burn, but it still feels worth it, especially as I can share content from Instagram which are really shared from my main Facebook posts.

As many of you know, I have struggled to get posts on this site indexed in Google, and I'm still sitting with only one post currently indexed, which is the many site. Having another discovery platform has made me feel a lot less invisible, and Bing has indexed a lot of the posts, so it's just Google having an issue.

If anyone else here is working on Pinterest and wants to share tips or compare notes, I’d love to hear what’s working for you. Or some advice about what I need to do to increase followers would also be welcome.

And if you’ve been thinking about setting up an account but haven’t started yet, honestly, it’s easier than it looks.

Little steps… as always. I hope this helps some of you.

All the best

Gail

Hello Gail, happy Sunday funday, You are moving fast for me to keep up with LOL! I started a Pinterest page long ago, But did not keep up with it, MrG vitality as showed me a lot of videos for ads, Gail do not be disappointed with your progress, It will come unexpectedly, I have had same thing Google having an issue. Thats the NEW world, keep moving forward.😁🍗

You are definitely moving forward, slowly and steadily. Pinterest is the next 'big project' on my list, and I have started looking into it, but I need to listen to some of the training videos first. So far I've only had advice from Quill and Copilot. And even those threads are buried somewhere underneath lots of newer threads. But it will happen...

You'll get there, Isabella. We're on this journey together! 😊

Sounds great, Gail.

Thanks JD. I'm pleased with the progress so far. Will see how things go. Isaiah suggested that Pinterest like accounts who engage with others so I'll do some more pinning and searching and see if that helps. Just need to be careful not to go down the Pinterest rabbit hole as I've done that before and 3 hours later...

Welcome, Gail.

Chatty said the same thing. Once I get my two websites stabilized and all. Then I will look into all the other stuff.

We are all vernable with life issues, and to see that you have eased forward with your plan shows the benefit of planning. Having a place to start when you have a few minutes can soon add up, as you have shown.
Thanks for sharing your progress on Pinterest.

Thanks, Sami. I think you're right. Even though I've been not able to comment or read posts as much, I've really tried to keep up with posting at least some social each week and a couple of blog posts. It's so much easier with the AI tools we have here as nothing needs to be started from scratch.
Hope you are well. Thanks, Sami.

Hi Gail, thank you for this! I'm just starting my own Pinterest journey so will be interested to see where it goes. I do feel a bit overwhelmed with it all, as there is so much to do in order to get the content out there. But I have high hopes!

From what I can tell, you're doing really well with your site, Mary-Elle, and I wish you all the best. I think it can be daunthing at first but if you start small and work up from there, it seems manageable. That's what I'm trying to do anyway. I know I'm not getting everything right, but it's a start.
One thing that I am learning to do more is to publish things everywhere. So when I write a post on my website, I now do a couple of FB, Instagram and Pinterest posts as well. Then I'll see if I can repurpose the post on Medium or something like that. It seems to be the way forward now with the drop off from Google.
All the best. Gail

Hi Gail,

One thing that I learned is that Pinterest rewards you if you're actively engaging - clicking pins, saving pins, following boards, hovering on images, clicking outbound links, and even reading descriptions.

Passive account grow little. Active accounts grow exponentially.

Hope this helps!
Isaiah 😁

Sounds like good advice to me, Isaiah and thanks for the tip. I'll try engaging more and see what happens and then let you know!
Have a great day. Gail

Hi Gail!

Good to know you are back...
You were missed!

The question with pintrest = the bots...
Especially with one follower...

I no longer look at analytics...
time consuming, deluvial or deprimating

Aiming for quanlity not quantity...
1 is still better than no one...

Great result since your account is not so old 👏
And no, not joking

Just my two cents...

Thnk you for sharing 🤩

Ah, thanks, Fleeky. Yes I agree, 1 is better than 0. Something to work with... LOL!
Thanks for your support as always. It's much appreciated.
Hope you are well.

Indeed! Thanks, Miss Fleeky!

I can relate, you’re definitely not alone. Life has its seasons, and sometimes we have to step back and handle what matters most. I’m glad everything is okay with your daughters and the house sale. Thanks for sharing your experience with Pinterest

You're welcome Jocelyne. Thanks for your kind comments. Hope it helps if you are starting. out with Pinterest.

Good morning and thank you for sharing your experience with Pinterest. As of late, I have been building my following in FB and Instagram, up to 15k followers on my FB page! Instagram is slower, but continues to grow.

I have been starting to build my Pinterest page, gaining a bit of traffic but no followers yet. What you have discussed has given me food for thought as I build my page. Patience, continued posting and patience seems to be the formula! Also having valuable content for the user/follower.

Thank you again for sharing!

4

Thanks, Pauline. Good to see you are gradually building your FB following too. I'm still working on that and hopefully boosting a few posts will give me a kick start. Good luck with your own Pinterest account. Gail
