Hello, lovely WAers!

I thought I'd just post an update on my progress with setting up my Facebook pages.

A month ago I decided to create 3 separate Facebook pages related to the 3 websites that I am currently working on. I've been watching Jay's training series about Facebook which has helped a lot (thank you, Jay).

After one month, I'm pretty pleased with the results so far, and although by no means mindblowing, they have given me hope that I can build up the sites slowly with steady work and consistent posting.

I've had some good interactions, a new follower out of the blue and some post shares. I've also had posts that have not had any interactions so far at all, but I remember what Jay said, which is the life of a Facebook post is about 36 - 72 hours so I'm not losing any sleep on that!

I've put some metrics down below. Apologies, I'm not sure why I can't get the same view of the metrics from all 3 sites, but I'm sure I'll figure that out along the way.

I had about 400 friends on my personal site, and each week I invited them to join one of the sites so as not to bombard them all at once.

Overall, between the 3 sites, I have:

  • 47 posts
  • 4 videos

I've not used any advertising as yet, just trying to get up and running and get some organic traction first.

Site two - A niche site for personal development

I have 24 followers on this so far, not 11... no doubt I'll work that metric out soon too!! :)

What I have done so far

I started the pages mid-February and completed the setup apart from linking to Instagram which I'm still working on. However, I've tried to post something regularly and am now up to at least 1 post a day, sometimes 2 or 3.

These have been a mixture of links to my websites, inspirational quotes, questions and fun things. I have also made a video and reel for each of the sites in the last week using Canva. (I have the paid version of this).

Below is one of the quotes I've published which I feel is very relevant to my current situation...

Early days

Obviously, I'm still in the very early days. I can't say I really know what I'm doing, but I'm learning fast and in my book, that's a good start. The best thing I've found is that I'm not constantly posting on my personal page which I feel bad about always trying to plug my webpages, so setting up these three specific pages has helped me overcome that. I now have no qualms about posting shamelessly because the pages are there for people to follow if that's what they're interested in.

I'm working my way through the Meta business pages and everything else too, so I'm still learning.

It's early days and I have lots and lots more work to do, but I'm confident that it will be worth it a few months down the line.

And obviously, I'll keep you all updated.

Have a lovely evening.

Gail

Hey Gail, well done on your progress. Remember that consistency is key. Not too often, but at least once to thrice per week, and you should connect your YouTube channel to your blogs so they can cross-promote one another. Make high-quality content and do one or more of the following:

1) Answer a question.
2) Solve a problem.
3) Fullfil a need (and if this need is also a want/desire to have it's a winner).
Uphold the PPP - Patience, Persistence, and Perseverance.

That sounds like a good plan. Thanks for the advice.

Hi Gail, there is a Meta business hub and I suspect that the third page might be connected to it but the first two are not?

Another wild guess is that the third page has a lot of videos while the first two don't.

Just guesses looking at the difference in the information. I might be way off.

Michael

Thanks Michael. I'll look into that. I think you might be right about the pages being connected, as I had a bit of trouble there to start with.

That is so motivating, Gail. It's something I have put on my list for later when I have completed all the hub training. I am still working on my website to get it the way I want and to get it indexed as well as working on my first book that I plan to publish on KDP Amazon. I don't want to spread myself too thinly. Writing and publishing my first book on KDP will also be a learning curve. But it's all exciting.

I wish you lots of success and look forward to your update.

Isabella

Thanks, Isabella. I agree that there is such a lot we could do here. At the moment, I'm concentrating on tidying up my websites and the FB things, but I have a list as long as my arm of the things I want to do. However, I agree that we need to focus so we can master one thing at a time. Good luck with your book publishing. I'd be keen to hear of your experience with that.

Well done!

Thank you!

Awesome Gail, nice work with your progress inside of the Facebook world. You are doing great, and I look forward to seeing your future updates (about continued growth). :)

Thanks, Kyle. It's all thanks to the training and community here that I'm even trying. I'm focusing on the goal and just putting in the legwork! I appreciate your support.
