90 Day WA Challenge - Report from Gail - Week 10
Well hello lovely WA family.
Here we are with my week 10 report which will be a short one this week as I have about 15 minutes to write it before dashing out to teach.
This week has been a bit strange and I feel it's been all about choices. I had to make a few decisions as to where to put my priorities and focus this week.
I did not get as much done as I wanted, although I think that's hardly surprising as it's been the first week back at school for all of us. I have 2 teenage daughters who both have quite a lot of special needs and they have both started a new course at college in the last week, so I've been there coaxing them in on the first day; firmly putting my foot down that they should go back on day 2, and so on! And I've also had my own students to contend with as well.
I had great plans at the start of the summer to clear out my loft, refurbish my shed and clear a rubbish patch in my garden but alas, I now have a cleared rubbish patch which I now need to use to store all the rubbish from my loft!! But don't feel sorry for me - it's all self-inflicted and my life has been like this as long as I can remember! LOL.
Anyway, to the task at hand. As I said last week, we're on the home stretch now and into phase 3 of the challenge. Our targets for this week were:
β Weeks 9β12: Monetize + Optimize (September)
- Add stronger CTAs and affiliate links
- Update 3+ older posts for SEO or layout
- Create a βtop toolsβ or βbest ofβ article
- Begin tracking clicks or conversions
- Optional: Launch a lead magnet, opt-in, or email list
Focus: Let the machine work. Shift from growth to revenue.
So, here's my week 10 progress
- I'm quite pleased with the work on my affiliate links this week. I have about 150 articles on my site and I'm currently going through them one by one, updating old content and sorting out SEO things that have been flagged in various search engines. Only about 20% of the articles have affiliate links but I have systematically gone through about 2/3rds of those so far and updated them all. I've also made some of my own banners on Canva which I feel work well visually and which are in keeping with the branding and feel of the site. I still have more to do which I'm hoping to finish this week, but this is a job I've needed to do for a long time, so it's good to have the nudge through the challenge.
- I haven't published any new posts this week but I have had a big focus on one major pillar post about the Law of Attraction, which was how my site started. Basically I've rewritten it and added new visuals, much better signposting and structure, which I hope will help with SEO. I've also identified another 10 or so other sister articles that I've linked to from the article, and will now link back to the pillar post from those too.
- I still haven't created a "top tools" or "best of" article this week but I think my pillar posts are more important.
- I shared a video on YouTube that had over 1500 views, which was great and a big difference to normal so I'm working on my videos more.
- Still no progress on keywords or Google indexing and I'm still working through the issues slowly - very slowly!
- I did a post here on WA about my own challenges last week with Imposter Syndrome, and I hope you'll be glad to know that I'm feeling better now - thanks for your support.
- I've added a few pins to Pinterest but my social media output this week has been less.
- 10 posts on Facebook/Instagram
- 10 posts on Facebook/Instagram for my other 2 sites
- I decided to make my newsletter bi-weekly, so that will go out next week.
My thoughts on the week
I'm pleased with the work I've done on the affiliate links, as it's been on my 'to-do' list for ages. I feel good that I have decided to publish less frequently but update lots of the posts I already have.
One thing I've noticed is that a lot of my articles read like a book chapter rather than a blog so I'm addressing that with Sparky - we're saving the originals for my books, and then updating everything to match the new requirements of online articles. Fleeky has just posted a great post about updating articles at: https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/fleeky/blog/full-site-article-improvement-plan which I urge you to look at if you want to update your sites too.
I've also spent the week thinking about where I am and what I want from my sites, so that I'm not just continuing on blindly, but reassessing things as I go. That's where my imposter syndrome came from I think. But sometimes it's good to stop and reassess; then you can move on with purpose. A bit of reflection never hurt anyone... except perhaps, Dracula!
Goal for next week
Next week I will again focus on updating articles and finishing those affiliate links and hopefully update another pillar post.
"The devil is in the detail" so they say..
Have a wonderful week everyone, and thanks for your support, as always.
Gail (and Sparky)
PS. At least I seem to be getting younger in Sparky's images!!

Thanks, Gail.
I am going to use this for my update. If you don't mind.
Saturday was Mom's Memorial. It was very nice. We got to see cousins we had not seen in a long time and meet cousins we had never met. My Buddy, Kirk, and his adopted daughter also came. I had not seen him in over 10 years and had just met her.
On the electronic side of things. Chatty gave me quite a few fits this last week, and so I did not get my newsletter or chapters out to get the momentum going again. But I am still working on the. On a brighter note, I have started taking the updated WA Lessons. I had stripped my website to bare bones so that Chatty and I could get it tweaked just how I want it. After I publish my first three books in about 4 weeks, I hope.
That is about it.

Good morning Gail,
Thank you for another update on your 90-day challenge.
I'm just looking at your 10-week progress section, Kyle and it's great to see that your YouTube videos are working well, or at least growing, which is fantastic.
As I've mentioned before, it's great you are documenting your journey, I actually think that when we do this, we encourage ourselves and others. I hope at the end of the journey, you will see some big differences, but I believe that after 90 days you will extend your challenge, I hope!π
Have a great day.
Roy
Thanks, Roy. I won't be stopping after 90 days if that's what you mean. Come too far to miss the diamonds now!
Thanks for reading and supporting.
It's a pleasure, Gail!
I didn't think you would be stopping, it's good to keep this momentum up and then, I'm sure that you will see results. Keep documenting your journey, it makes for good, interesting and helpful reading.
Have a fantastic day.
Roy
